Sheet Pan Garlic Butter Salmon
A complete sheet pan supper with ONE PAN to clean! With roasted potatoes and green beans with the BEST garlic butter sauce!
Our St. Patty’s day was rough.
 Really rough.
We missed dinner.
And inhaled a massive cheeseboard instead.
With mini donuts.
And some more cheese.
See?
I told you.
It was rough.
To recover, I have this.
Because you know I love a garlic butter sauce.
I mean, I’m drinking this sauce for breakfast.
But don’t worry.
It’s all balanced out with those green beans.
Sheet Pan Garlic Butter Salmon
Ingredients
- 1 pound baby red potatoes
- 2 pounds salmon
- 8 ounces green beans, trimmed

- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly oil a baking sheet or coat with nonstick spray.
- In a small bowl, whisk together butter, brown sugar, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, thyme and rosemary; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Set aside.
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook potatoes until parboiled for 12-15 minutes; drain well.
- Place potatoes, salmon and green beans in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Drizzle green beans and potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Spoon the butter mixture over the salmon.
- Place into oven and cook until the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 16-18 minutes.
- Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.

Just so good. I didn’t have green beans, so I subbed asparagus instead. Used olive oil for part of the butter on the fish-the combo of those spices is simply killer!
Making this again tonight. Sometimes I leave the brown sugar out, other times I put it in. Tonight, it is in, and I cannot wait to eat! Hubby isn’t a big fan of salmon, so more for me!!!!!!!!!! Awesome, awesome recipe. I pass it along every chance I get.
My kids 7 and 10 love this dinner! Quick and easy to put together. Looks fancy when we have company as well.
Hi
I would like to make this recipe. I love all your recipes i have tried so far! Do you have the nutritional facts for the recipe please?
Thanks
Trish
Good flavor but turned out really greasy and I didn’t even use all the butter mixture. Could have been fatty salmon in addition to the butter that created the grease, but not my favorite.Â
This was quick, easy and delicious! The salmon was so perfectly cooked!
Wow! I follow (and make) your recipes regularly and am very rarely disappointed. This was superb. I love salmon and am always looking for new ways to make it. The combo with the potatoes and green beans in one pan is genius! The garlic butter was about twice as much as I thought I needed, but no worries. I brushed it over the extra potatoes and green beans I made in a separate pan. BTW, my no-fail way to determine if salmon is done: cook it skin side down and when it slides easily out of the skin … voila!
So excited to try this recipe tomorrow evening!  I’m a Type 1 Diabetic.  Do you think it will be a problem to omit the brown sugar from the recipe?  Any suggestions on a substitute, or do you think the recipe will be okay without it?  Thank you!
Cody, you can absolutely omit the brown sugar to suit your dietary restrictions. 🙂
This is seriously so dam good…. I adore this dish… Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks, Pat! So glad you enjoyed it!
I followed this recipe to the T. It was delicious! I have yet to make a recipe of Chungah’s that is not a hit!
We love that, Barbara! Please try them all! 🙂
Just tried the salmon portion this evening and it was tasty. This summer I’d like to try it with fresh lemon juice. I am always on the lookout for good seasoning for salmon so I look forward to trying your other salmon recipes as well.
Looks great! Could I pre-roast the potatoes instead of par-boiling them (for the same time)? One less pan to wash.Â
Sure!
This looks so good. Can you give some ideas what else to serve. I am thinking we could have this Christmas eve, but my family does not like roast potatoes, so I can make other things on the side (does not need to be cooked in the same pan). I am not a cook like you.
I went to your site to look up ideas for Christmas eve and here is why…
everything I have made is amazing and I want to say thank you. In fact, our daughter wanted so badly to have Chick Filet for her 13th birthday but it was a Sunday and they were closed, also it is 40 minutes away. I found your recipe, and oh my goodness! I don’t like fast food, definitely do not find chic filet to be in the “amazing” category but your recipe and honey sauce…. TO DIE FOR. You are very talented, and I think you must be a very nice person too, because the way you write and it comes across is truly inspirational. Thank you so much!
Aw, you are just the sweetest, Laura! Thank you! And yes, you can serve this with other vegetables such as green beans, zucchini, tomatoes, etc. Hope that helps!
Feel free to check out my favorite side dishes here.
Absolutely delicious. Best salmon I’ve ever made!  I omitted the rosemary bc I feel it would’ve been too powerful a flavor. I added more oregano. I also used all fresh herbs from the garden. I like my salmon cooked a bit more than most, so I increased the temp too 400 degrees and added an additional 5 minutes to the cooking time. Fish was still tender and oh so flavorful. Thank you for a fresh tasting salmon recipe that isn’t drowning with ingredients.Â
Thanks for sharing with us!
I didn’t think enough in advance to pull my salmon out of the freezer. How would you adjust this recipe using frozen instead of fresh salmon? Thanks!
Chelsey, cooking time will have to be adjusted as needed but without further recipe testing, I cannot answer with certainty. As always, please use your best judgment when making substitutions and modifications.
I made this last night – it was delicious! I think 16-18min in the oven was the perfect cooking time; the salmon came out great.
I think in the future, I will have fun experimenting with different butter mixes. Maybe whisking in dill and adding lemon pepper would be yummy, too.
It was my first time cooking green beans, so I think I should have done more to make them flavorful. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you for this website, Chungah! I am learning a lot about cooking.
That’s so great to hear! Thank you for sharing your experience!
Just made your garlic butter salmon, substituted asparagus spears for the green beans. My wife and I both inhaled this meal. Loved it! Thanks for the great recipes!
Hi Tim! Did you keep the cooking time and oven temperature the same as the recipe when you swapped green beans with asparagus? I was thinking asparagus would be a great combination, too!
Also, my son doesn’t like trying new foods, but the other day when I told him we were going to try one of Chungah’s recipes he was excited to try it 🙂
My family loves this recipe so much!!! My son even requested this for his 6th birthday dinner. Absolutely delicious!
Thank you so much for your recipes – I hated cooking because I never knew what to cook and wasn’t very good at it. I’ve had many Pinterest fails but after trying a few of your recipes, I’m starting to enjoy it more and eating it too 🙂
I made this tonight for my family. My 2 toddlers loved it. Even said it was the best dinner ever! It was delicious and so easy!
Just made this meal, and I thought I would comment. So good!!
We did the recipe exactly except our salmon portion was a little bit smaller. I did end up sautéing the green beans afterwards just to make them a little more tender, but it was no big deal.
Make it…you will not be disappointed!
Made this meal tonight. Â Everything was exact but the size of the salmon. Â We are only 3 and the piece I chose to feed us was only 650 grams (1.5 lbs) and not 1000 grams (approx 2 lbs). I measure the potatoes and green beans and potatoes and followed the rest of the recipe exactly as written, cooking for 18 minutes. Â Fantastic and perfect! Â We will definitely be making this again. Â Yum.
I was SO disappointed! I followed the recipe to the letter. All ingredients were fresh. Even though I pre cooked the potatoes per the recipe. I also precooked the beans a little. Both came out undercooked. The salmon was ok, but the dish lacked flavor over all. I took a photo that looked just like yours.
Thank you for your wonderful recipes.  I am required to be on a no refined sugar, no grain diet and no canola oil.  I love that I can convert many of  your recipes easily and have them be delicious.  Again, thank you so much.  Also, my husband thanks you!
Omg, this recipe is a godsend. It’s incredibly delicious and the mix of flavors go super well together. Thank you for sharing it. I love it!
I bought a large half of Norwegian salmon and it turned out fantastic. However, the green beans did not cook enough nor did the potatoes. They were small red potatoes that I cut into fourths. I took the salmon out of the oven and covered it with foil and let it rest while I put the veggies back in to cook longer. The potatoes did OK but the green beans just sort of shriveled up and did not cook and did not look appetizing. I turned the amazing salmon into patties today and am serving with a creme fraiche, lemon and horseradish sauce.
Wow what a great recipe, looks delish!!! I have a one-pan recipe too and would LOVE to hear your input on it!
I visit the site often and love many of the dishes here. After making this, I feel you can cut back on the butter… too much to top a fatty fish. Also, I didn’t have green beans, so I used broccoli and it was great.
Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! Fixed it tonight for supper and my husband keeps raving about how good it was. He said it tasted like restaurant quality. Thank you again!
This looks AMAZING! Can’t wait to try it.Â
Made it tonight, bloody fantastic.
I love sheet pan meals; such easy clean up!
I’m practically drooling. I love salmon and this sounds fantastic!
I love your recipes, and this one is no exception. Thank you for your talent and generosity.
beautiful photos– it looks delicious
Where did my comment go?
You can double if you wish to do so. Also, please note, comments take 24-48 hours to be moderated.
That looks like a whole lot more than 1 lb of potatoes and 8 oz green beans. Â Shall I double those amounts?
This looks great! I am only a recent ‘convert’ to cooking salmon and have been pan frying it only. Can I cook this on parchment paper without adding a non-stick spray? Or do you think I have to spray the parchment paper too? I want to try it later this week to ‘practice’ as this looks (and I hope tastes!) like the exact recipe I want to make next month for our holiday dinner. I’m so over cooking for 2 days (and cleaning up!) before the entire family comes over. I’m hoping this will help me streamline my time!
You may not need nonstick spray with parchment paper. But as always, please use your best judgment regarding substitutions and modifications.
Finally! A salmon dish with a pack of good and healthy stuff. My Dad went for fishing last Friday, and he brought with him some big salmons for us to share. I’m actually considering the usual salmon dish with lemon but I guess it kinda looks boring already since it’s my Mom’s specialty. I wanna create recipe out of it so here comes your dish that is definitely worth the try. Talk about timing!
Annyong hase-yo!
Thank you for your delicious, colorful, easy cooking recipes! Â They almost make me want to cook again. Â I’ve been forwarding your recipes to my daughter who lives upstairs. Â Perhaps she’ll make this old halmoni happy soon.
My friends are grateful to you too. Â Keep up the great work!
Mahalo and Aloha,
Brenda
