Six Ingredient Pizza Bake AND a Fantastic Giveaway! (GIVEAWAY CLOSED)

I was selected to create an original recipe with six ingredients or less by the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program with American Express as part of their Dinner@6 program. I was initially ecstatic when I found out that I had been chosen but then that quickly transformed into brainstorming stress. I had so many ideas on what to make but who knew 6 ingredients could be so limiting! But then I remembered those Cheesy Bacon Biscuits I made several months ago and that’s when it hit me. Why not make a pizza using a biscuit base instead of a pizza dough base? Sounds brilliant, no?

I was a bit worried that the biscuit crust would be too thick for a pizza but that’s wasn’t the case at all as the blend of mozzarella and drops of ricotta melted right into the buttery, fluffy biscuit. The julienned sun-dried tomatoes along with the sweet, refreshing basil was also beautifully complemented by the cheeses, making it a perfect match-made in heaven. It took just minutes to prep and required just six ingredients, making it the easiest, most delicious dinner in under 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Six Ingredient Pizza Bake:

Yields 4 servings

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits, 8 count
  • 2 cups pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup ricotta
  • 1/2 cup julienned sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained
  • 10 fresh basil leaves, chiffonade

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil a 9-inch cast iron skillet with olive oil; set aside.

Unroll biscuits from can and place into bottom of skillet.

Using a ladle, top biscuits with pizza sauce.

Top with mozzarella in an even layer, working to edges.

Drop spoonfuls of ricotta over mozzarella.

Top evenly with sun-dried tomatoes.

Place into oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until cheese is melted and biscuits are cooked through.

Serve immediately, garnished with basil.
