M&M Cookies in a Jar #SundaySupper

Thanksgiving is 1.5 weeks away and Christmas is right around the corner so the #SundaySupper team and I are bringing you holiday gifts from the kitchen. And what better way to say “Happy Holidays” than with a mason jar filled with all the ingredients to make homemade m&m cookies?

It takes just 10 minutes to make, they’re completely customizable and best of all, they’re so inexpensive! If you bake on a regular basis, you’ll have all the ingredients on hand. The only thing I had to buy was the seasonal m&m’s but feel free to use whatever type of candy or chocolate chips that you already have. I just wanted to go the more festive route which is why I chose the green and red m&m’s.

Then when you’re all done, tie a bow with a holiday tag and you are set. Now how easy was that? Plus, I’m sure the recipient of these jars will be thrilled about this gift. After all, how can anyone have a problem with homemade cookies, especially when all the hard work is done for you?!

Be sure to check out what the other holiday gifts are being brought to the table for #SundaySupper!

M&M Cookies in a Jar (adapted from Bakerella):
Yields 1 cookie mix
INGREDIENTS:
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/3 cup m&m’s
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup sugar
DIRECTIONS:
In a pint size mason jar, layer the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, oats, m&m’s, brown sugar and sugar, packing each layer tightly.
Add a ribbon and a tag with the following directions:
- Empty jar of cookie mix into a mixing bowl; mix well. Add 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted, 1 beaten egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until blended.
- Roll into 1-inch balls, and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375 degrees until edges are lightly browned, about 12 to 14 minutes.
- Cool on cookie sheet for five minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Makes 1 dozen cookies.
