Tonkatsu (Japanese Pork Cutlet) #SundaySupper

Jason and I try to penny pinch whenever we can. He’s a starving grad student and I’m working 2 jobs (which includes blog work because let’s face it - blogging is a full-time job!) to pay off sky high credit card bills and to ultimately save up for a house. That’s when budgeting for groceries becomes incredibly important.
Sesame Chicken
Before I get into this sesame chicken goodness, can we first talk about last night’s episode of Grey’s? I’ve been following this show for years and although the show has plummeted in the more recent years, I’ve never missed an episode (yeah, I’m that much of a loyal Grey’s fan). But last night’s episode was quite amazing. I don’t think I’ve cried like that since the finale of season 6 when the shooter came in and killed off like half the cast. I mean the minute Avery flipped over that legal pad with the new name of the hospital - wow - tears just started streaming down my face. I think I started blubbering at some point.
I’m still a bit shaken up about it so if today’s post doesn’t make too much sense, it’s because tv world has totally taken over reality.

Green Tea Cupcakes with Matcha Cream Cheese Frosting

I’m not really one to celebrate St. Patty’s Day. Don’t get me wrong, the idea of going to an Irish pub and guzzling beer sounds fun but I gave up alcohol years ago. But I do enjoy the the St. Patty’s Day food, particularly the corned beef and cabbage combo (Jason waits all year long for me to make it around this time of year), irish stew and now, these matcha green tea cupcakes.
Miso Soup with Vermicelli, Mushrooms and Tofu #SundaySupper

Happy Sunday! I first want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. You all are so sweet, and I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful, loving blogging community.
That being said, I am dead exhausted from celebrating my birthday all weekend long, from the many, many red velvet ice cream cake slices to watching Django until 1:30 in the morning. It’s becoming a huge struggle to stay up so late, as I prefer to be in bed by 11PM. I must really be getting old.
