I think I’m way too spoiled with the weather here in LA. I’ve seen so many Instagram photos of snow-covered tables and the thunderstorms that are happening, while I’m out here in sunny California, walking around in flip flops.

October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and is dedicated to raising awareness and educating individuals about breast cancer. So Cassie from Bake Your Day and Erin from Dinners, Dishes, and Desserts have teamed up this week to bring a full week of pink recipes, or recipes that are helpful in fighting cancer.
Nectarine Upside-Down Cake
I’m a HUGE, no wait, actually, I’m the BIGGEST, cake person ever. If I could, I’d eat cake for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as a midnight snack. But, because I don’t look like anything close to Heidi Klum and my metabolism moves at a snail pace, I could only eat cake once in a blue moon. And even when I do, I have to do portion control.
But I’ll let you in on a little secret. Portion control = sucks.

Can you believe we’re already in July?! I swear, I still feel like New Year’s Eve was just 2 weeks ago. It’s crazy how time is just zooming by! Next thing you know, I’ll be posting Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes! Actually, now that I think I about it, I should start researching Thanksgiving dishes. I like planning in advance. Jason thinks I’m crazy for mentioning Thanksgiving this early in the year but I think it’s just having good sense! Wouldn’t you foodies agree?
