Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry
The easiest stir-fry you will ever make! With the juiciest, tender chicken bites and sneaked in veggies!
Hello easiest-dinner-ever. It’s such a quick, speedy stir-fry using of course, chicken thighs (my favorite!), yielding the juiciest, most tender chicken bites ever. But don’t worry, you can swap them out for chicken breasts if dark meat is not your thing.
I also added some broccoli for those sneaky greens, soaking up all that saucy goodness. But you can use any veggies you have on hand – carrots, zucchini, cauliflower, snap peas, baby corn, you name it! They are all good here.
Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry
Ingredients
- ½ cup chicken stock
- ¼ cup oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha, optional
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- ½ teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- FOR THE CHICKEN STOCK MIXTURE: In a small bowl, whisk together chicken stock, oyster sauce, vinegar, ginger, garlic and Sriracha, if using; set aside.
- Season chicken with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
- In a medium bowl, combine chicken and cornstarch.
- Heat canola oil and sesame oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
- Working in batches, add chicken to the skillet in a single layer and cook until golden brown, about 7-8 minutes. Stir in broccoli and CHICKEN STOCK MIXTURE until broccoli is just tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds.

Delicious as usual. Never had a bad recipe they’re easy to make and fresh ingredients are great.
I have been trying to make my own chicken/beef and broccoli dish for a while now. At the 11th hour discovered your recipe and it was a home run. Everyone including my 5 year old enjoyed this dish. I followed as written and it turned out perfect. I may add more sauce next time b/c we are sauce people also, but great great recipe. This will definitely be in our rotation.
I doubled the sauce recipe because my family LOVES sauce. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. It was really delicious.
Sooooo much better than take out!!! Love that I can keep the veggies crisp and the sauce (out of habit and person taste, I boosted the ginger/garlic/hot sauce) is way fresher than take out too. I will absolutely make this again. Thank you!
Followed recipe and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a keeper.
Planning some modifications but this is a solid recipe.
I love this dish! I doubled the sauce and then doubled again, once sauce is warm, then thicken the sauce with 4TBSP of water and 4 TBSP of cornstarch let it come to a boil stirring then turn down to low then put uncooked broccoli right into the sauce cooked at simmer for about 10 min. Added the chicken let it cook on low, add linguine last, kept warm untill we we were ready to eat.
I do not have Oyster Sauce on hand and was craving this right now so used low sodium soy sauce. I added double the Sriracha because I wasnt paying attention so then added a small amount of Splenda brown sugar mix to lessen the burn. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly minus salt and pepper and this is one of the easiest and best at home chicken and broccoli recipes I have tried and truly taste better than any of the local restaurants. This will be the only recipe I use from now on.
Thank you for sharing. I follows the recipe, only adding onions carrots snd some honey fur sweetness. It was quick, easy and very good. On a hunch I searched to see if you had a beef and broccoli recipe too and was glad to find it. Will be trying that one next. For those who want nutritional info, like I do, you can use an app to put in the ingredients of the recipe and it will calculate it for you. Pretty quick and easy to do. I use “Lose It”, but I’m sure there are others. Good luck!
It’s a hit in my house! This recipe is definitely just like the restaurant makes it. Family approved
this is super tasty. It did take me longer to cook the chicken but will make this again.
Delicious! Made recipe with no changes and all loved it!
OMG!!! I may not be much of a cook, but got dangit this was an easy peasy lemon freezy chicken and broccoli to make!! When I get takeout I can feel the plastics and innaturalitys in the meal? I always feel bloated afterwards. But when I found D@$# Delicious, my problems were solved!! Hubs said go for it! honey but the gremlins (my 2 kids: Charlie and Atticus)told me to “beat it ma”… But I preserved for my lovely hubbsy wubbsy gubbsy!!!! :] When I finally finished this 3 hours later… they all had 7 healthy helpings! We had a side of ghee on rye. With apple cider vinegar. Kids said “wow ma, finally made something good for once you old hag”, and I laughed with joy.

I added soy sauce.
Easy peasy recipe and wonderful flavors, will make this more often.
This is the best stir fry I have ever made. Hands down. We also made the sesame chicken bowl recipe but prefer this one. We double the sauce and add extra veggies. Sugar snap peas and carrots are great additions. Very easy to make even for more people. Just make more sauce. We make it at least once a week! You can use boneless skinless breasts too but I prefer the thighs. Leftovers taste fabulous and just like Chinese takeout but without the greasiness.
Loved it. Added onions! What is the calorie count? I love that it has no added sugar. I added chili crisp vs. optional siracha. This is a great recipe!
This was delicious! I made it without broccoli and added chopped onion,
carrots, tomato, red and green peppers. The flavors were great and we enjoyed it!
Will be making it again! Thanks for your great meal ideas!
Flavors were good. I added the sesame oil at the end instead.
I loved the flavor but It was really watery. I would definitely make it again but add a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. I also added carrots and zucchini and double the sauce.
Your sauce was watery because you added zucchini. Zucchini releases a lot of moisture. I followed the recipe and everything was perfect.
Excellent recipe
Awesome to the “T” chicken and broccoli recipe. Up here in jersey we love our chinese food, and this guys was on point. I like my CNB really really saucy , so all I did was double the liquids, but not the ginger and garlic. You must add 1/4 cup brown sugar and this takes the dish to outer space !! Trust me it’s fire!
