A copycat recipe that you can easily make right at home in just 20 minutes. And it tastes a million times better too!
I am such a sucker for lettuce wraps. They are so low in carbs so I become a bottomless pit, stuffing my face without any kind of guilt. And when it’s an exact PF Chang’s replica that can be made in 20 minutes or less – well, that just means I’m having this 5 times a week.
I kid you not. This is the easiest, quickest meal you could ever make. And if you’re quick in the kitchen, you could even get this on the dinner table in less than 15 minutes. Plus, it’s budget-friendly and you can easily double or triple the recipe as needed. What more could you ask for?
PF Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha, optional
- 1 (8-ounce) can whole water chestnuts, drained and diced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 head butter lettuce
Equipment
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add ground chicken and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the chicken as it cooks; drain excess fat.
- Stir in garlic, onion, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger and Sriracha until onions have become translucent, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in chestnuts and green onions until tender, about 1-2 minutes; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- To serve, spoon several tablespoons of the chicken mixture into the center of a lettuce leaf, taco-style.

I like to add diced mushrooms and diced green peppers to my recipe (this is not included in the nutritional facts posted in this comment). I hope this helps!
Delicious!! Will definitely be added into my favorite recipe book.
Doesn’t have to be a cast iron skillet? Would it make a huge difference if I just used a regular skillet?
This was a good and easy recipe!! Enjoyed it very much!
Whole family enjoyed, thank you for sharing the recipe! Will be making again very soon.
Nutritional Information?
Excellent
This was delicious! I am a college student and I made this for me and some friends. It was very simple to make. Everyone loved it! I am absolutely making it again!
Flavorful and easy to make. 10/10 for me
Delicious, especially if you add a handful of cilantro!
Sounds like a lovely addition, Carolyn!
I made it and doubled it for freezing! Had only 1 pound each of turkey and chicken but it tasted really delicious! We served it with egg roll rolls on the side for dinner! Also, I added minced carrots for crunch too.
This recipe is fun to make and ohmygosh so tasty. A damn delicious dinner with this recipe. We all loved it.
There was way too much ginger. I’ll make again but with 1 teaspoon, not a Tablespoon
What nuts would be good to add to this?
Absolutely!
I’ve made this recipe several times because it is so good! Much better than the restaurant! My husband requests it at least once a week.
Does anyone know what the dry crunchy white noodles are that come with this plate at PF Changs? Plus, where to get them?
They are rice noodles and should be able to get wherever you buy Asian foods…. Or you could order on Amazon… our grocery store here sells them
They are just rice noodles ($2) fried for less than 10 seconds in oil. As soon as the oil is hot (have a plate with a paper towel ready) put some noodles in the oil a little at a time. Be ready to remove them immediately and let them drain on the plate with the paper towel. They’re so simple but you can’t cook them long or you’ll have a smokey house!
The best and only recipe for lettuce wraps you’ll ever need….ever. Maybe possibly better than the real one itself!
This really was damndelicious! I added some chopped dry roasted peanuts. So good. I’ll make this again and again!
I have these several time we love them. I am wondering how many calories are in it ? And this last time we did it differently I didn’t use the lettuce instead I used egg roll wrappers and baked them , of course we cooked everything 1st and let it cool some
I know this is a really old recipe but I made this today and it was amazing. Just had one question- do you know how many calories this recipe is?
