Winter Pear Salad with Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette
I discovered the magic of Meyer lemons just last year but by the time I found out about it, I couldn’t find them anywhere! So as soon as they were in season late December, I got a huge Costco-sized box of Meyer lemons.
I’ve made so many things with these lemons but my most favorite way to use them is in this vinaigrette. With just enough tartness and sweetness, it serves as the perfect complement to the fresh pears, crunchy walnuts and creamy goat cheese.
This salad will definitely be in rotation at our house, although I’m a bit worried for when Meyer lemons are out of season. Regular lemons just won’t cut it!
Winter Pear Salad with Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette

For the vinaigrette
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup Meyer lemon juice
- 1 zest of 1 Meyer lemon
- 2 teaspoons sugar
Instructions
- To make the vinaigrette, whisk together olive oil, Meyer lemon juice and zest and sugar in a small bowl; set aside.
- To assemble the salad, place baby greens in a large bowl; top with the goat cheese, walnuts and dried cranberries. Pour the dressing on top of the salad and gently toss to combine. Serve immediately topped with sliced pear.

I had no luck finding Meyer lemons, so used regular. It was still absolutely fantastic.
You can use regular lemons or lime with this too… Great salad!
I tried this recipe last night after finding some meyer lemons at my Trader Joes. It was awesome. The vinaigrette was delicious and played beautifully with the pear and cheese. I’ll be indulging in this on a weekly basis until the lemons are m.i.a.

Try juicing your lemons then placing them in ice cubes trays. Once frozen, pop them out into little bags for the freezer. Works great. I do this for blood oranges, but it works equally well for small portions of cheese sauce.
Thanks for this amazing recipe; it’s just what I was looking for to serve with our Christmas dinner. It wasn’t easy finding Meyer lemons, but I can’t wait to try this :).
