Funfetti Cookies with Chocolate Chunks
Cakey cookies with chocolate chunks and rainbow jimmie sprinkles – fun for kids and grown-ups!
Today marks a big day for Damn Delicious. I never thought it would come so soon but it’s my two year blogoversary!
When I first started this blog, I had no idea what I was doing. I was simply cooking the things that I love and shooting everything with my point-and-shoot camera, not even worrying about lighting. But now, my life constantly revolves around natural lighting, I spend tons of money on food props/plateware/bakeware, and I spend hours online, attempting to juggle every single social media outlet there is.
It’s exhausting, but I honestly love every minute of it, even with all of the epic fails in the kitchen and all of the hours spent on a photoshoot just to scrap them in the very end.
This blog has become my passion, and I’m so happy to share it with you all. And to show you just how grateful I am, I have this entire week lined up with giveaways!
But first, let’s talk cookies.
I figured the best way to start off this giveaway week is with funfetti cookies because, well, sprinkles are so fun, and so perfect for any age. I even threw in chunks of Scharffen Berger’s semi sweet chocolate baking chunks. Yeah, you read right – I said chunks, to make sure you get all of that chocolatey chunky goodness.
The best part about these cookies is that Scharffen Berger is offerring one lucky Damn Delicious reader their very own baking set, which includes:
- 1 (6-ounce) bag 62% cacao semisweet chocolate baking chunks
- 1 (8-ounce) canister unsweetened natural cocoa powder
- 1 (9.7-ounce) bar 99% cacao unsweetened chocolate baking bar
- 1 (9.7-ounce) bar 70% cacao bittersweet chocolate baking bar
Just be sure to enter through the rafflecopter below!
Giveaway ends on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time. The winner will be selected by random.org and contacted by email. If there is no response after 48 hours, another winner will be selected. Open to US residents only.

it doesn’t say what measurement for the all purpose flour, I’m assuming its in cups, but just wanted to be sure
Yes, you are correct. 🙂
I’m so confused – the recipe says “funfetti cookies with chocolate chunks”. But nowhere in the recipe does it call for the chocolate chunks.
Thank you for letting me know. The recipe has been updated.
What about if I don’t have cake flour, is there an alternative
Zena, you can easily make a cake flour substitute with flour and cornstarch: http://joythebaker.com/2013/12/baking-101-the-best-cake-flour-substitute/.
Can I make the dough beforehand?
Yes, absolutely! Just be sure to bring the dough to room temperature before baking.
Hi! About The rainbow jimmie sprinkles: “jimmie” is the brand?
Sorry, but I live in Mexico, and often I don’t find many of the products. So I checked that in many times the brand it is very important for the final test.
Thank you!
Yadira, rainbow jimmie sprinkles is a type of sprinkle, not a brand.
Gracias!
