Apple Sangria - The absolute must-have sangria for Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, combining apples, cranberries, wine and apple cider. A winning combo!

We all know that Southern California does not really have a winter season. Except for maybe this winter.

It’s been so cold that I actually had to buy leg warmers.

Yes, leg warmers!

Never did I think that I would have to invest in one of these.

But now I wear them all day, even at home.

They’re just so comfy, all the while I sip on these.

It’s the absolute perfect sangria for this time of year, although you could really have it all year long.

But for now, I just need my leg warmers and a glass of this.

No wait. Maybe 2 glasses.

It’s Wednesday.

  1. Hello and thank you for many delicious and successful dinner recipes for my foodie husband and myself as well as my 2 picky eater tots. I love a red sangria but i really want to try this one out. It looks amazing!

I have to ask what can i replace the sparkling white wine with? I get a blasting headache from anything champagne. It never fails:(

  2. How would you adjust this recipe to have a non-alcoholic option? Your suggestions/recommendations, please.

  3. How far in advance can this be made? Would night before be too early? Thanks!

  4. Thinking a cinnamon stick might be tasty with this.

  5. I made this to take to a Halloween party; for convenience, I added the sparkling wine right before serving along with the other ingredients already in the pitcher, I also added 1/2 cup cranberry juice, it was a hit, and gone in no time. Will be serving this again next month for Thanksgiving, thanks for the recipe!

  6. I can definitely see white wine and cider going well together. That with the fresh fruit……Yumm!

  7. This recipe looks delicious, but would it still taste as good if I used red wine?

  8. Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

  9. Sounds great! Could you add a flavored vodka to this as well (Carmel, vanilla, etc…). Thoughts?

  10. Why couldn’t you pour the Sparkling wine in the whole thing before serving? Is it for the fizzy effect?

  11. Looks great – what do you mean by sparkling white wine…prosecco or champagne?

  12. Beautiful pictures. This looks delicious!

  13. How does such a young, thin, woman of taste, have such FABULOUS recipes while keeping her figure?

  14. What’s  the wine to sparkling wine  ratio??

  15. What white do you prefer for this?  I’m thinking something fairly dry because the cider is sweet?

  16. What type of white wine do you recommend?

  17. Sangria with apples and cranberries! I would love that!

  18. Wow, this looks impressive. I have never made anything like this, I think the time has come. :9

  19. Is sparkling wine just poured in glass before adding the rest? Really sounds good!

  20. Absolutely beautiful and festive!!  Love this apple sangria!!

  21. Hello…I have made many of your recipes & look forward to them each morning. I thought I could celebrate my birthday today with your Sangria! But I don’t understand when or how you “Serve over ice with sparkling white wine”. Do you like to add the sparkling wine to the pitcher or do you pour a little over the ice in the cup & then add the sangria mixture?
Thanks so much for your terrific ideas!

    • You can do either option – it’s up to you!

    • Ice, then sparkling to half the container, then top with the sangria.  This is a better recipe than my usual, but my take is to start with cold sparkling wine.  One stir should work well to mix.

  22. I love this beautiful, colorful Sangria. This is definitely a “keeper” recipe for years to come. Thanks.
