Parmesan Garlic Spaghetti
5 ingredients. 20 minutes. With melted butter, garlic and freshly grated Parmesan. A winning combination for the ENTIRE family!
I know. It’s a brand spanking new year, and I should probably be posting some variation of a quinoa-kale-type salad.
But guys. It’s a new year.
I say, let’s eat more Parmesan, garlic and pasta. Drenched in browned butter, of course.
I mean this only has 5 ingredients. And then takes about 20 minutes to whip up.
It’s almost a crime to NOT be eating this every single day of 2016, right?
Parmesan Garlic Spaghetti
Ingredients
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain well.
- In a medium saucepan, combine butter, garlic and red pepper flakes over medium heat until the butter has melted. Cook, whisking constantly, until the foam subsides and the butter begins to turn a golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, skimming foam as necessary.
- Remove from heat. Stir in pasta and Parmesan until well combined, about 2 minutes; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.

Thank you for the amazing recipe! It is quick and delicious!
The taste I was looking for! I used Italian durum semolina linguine, Kerrygold butter, garlic, Sartori Classic Parmesan cheese. I skipped the pepper and parsley as I wanted to enjoy just the deliciousness of the pasta. It is wonderful by itself. I love it
This recipe amazed me as far as quick-come-together meals go. They usually fail me big-time but this one was as simple as described, as quick and as delicious as promised. I should have cooked the spaghetti longer but that was on me (I usually like Al dente pasta but it was a bit more of a bite than preferred in this). The recipe itself was divine.
This pasta was exceptional!! My husband and I had this tonight. I sautéed some butter garlic chicken and added. So good. What could I do to make it a little more “saucy”? Maybe add some pasta water? Thank you! This is a keeper!!!!
So good! I’m super picky and just wanted garlic parm pasta. I tried two recipes which were so bad I couldn’t even finish it. This is better than I had in mind. I rarely leave reviews. Thank you.
Easy and delicious recipe! I made some rare steaks to accompany the pasta and everyone loved it! Thank you
Very delicious recipe. The entire family liked. Tasted liked ordered at an Italian restaurant. Next time will use less butter.
So yummy! Only thing I would have done is add more butter.
Made this recipe-so darn good I’m making it again as I write this review. On its own or with salad or protein, the flavour is so very delicious! Fast and easy too-just can’t go wrong.
Very good. I used less butter as recommend.
Fast and easy to make
This dish is so good! When I make this I double the recipe so we can have leftovers and I use garlic powder instead of minced garlic and pre packaged shredded parmesan instead of freshly grated, but I don’t think it deviates too much from the recipe for me to not give a rating to the recipe.
Easy to follow recipe and super tasty!
This was super easy to follow and the result were delicious !
Tried out this recipe loved it very good. However I would down play the butter a few table spoons.
This is the original alfredo recipe! A classic <3 lov it!
Dh and I really enjoyed this! So fast and easy to make. Thank you! (The only change I would suggest is to use a bit less butter as there was quite a bit left in the pot. Or serve it with bread to sop up the extra butter sauce.)
We tried this sauce tonight and it was delicious. So easy, so quick. It’s a nice alternative to the heavy red sauces we tend to use. We will definitely make this sauce again and again!!
I love these pasta recipes !!
Absolutely loved this recipe. This is my comfort meal when craving a nice simple bowl of pasta. I tend to add lots more garlic as I do love garlic. Once the pasta is done I add the pasta (right from the pot) right away to the saucepan and mix. If needed I use the pasta water to thicken up the sauce. I sometimes make this as a side with Chicken Parmesan.
This is SO good and easy! It’s our second time making this with Shirataki noodles. We use Shirataki noodles for all our pasta dishes. We love them! Today, we decided to use 5 tbsp of butter instead of the 10 tbsp that we did the first time. It was delicious the first time, but we had a ton of butter left in the bottom of our bowls. We also used a slice of toasted Extraordinary Bites Keto bread to dip in the leftover butter and garlic that was in the bottom of our bowls today. YUM YUM YUM! I can’t wait to make this again!
This is a rough take on the Italian version of “PASTA GA LOY Q” (phonetic spelling). A ‘poor man’s spaghetti. DELICIOUS, no matter how you pronounce or spell it. You can also use ramen noodles if you’re pressed for time. One of my favorites!
Haha, was looking up butter and spaghetti because thats all I have right now and gaplen to have these few extra ones too lol, fits the part
I used to do this when I was a kid.. thanks for the reminder lol
Made the sauce exactly as directed and mixed it
With tortellini. It was a huge hit and really delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
