Strawberry Avocado Pico de Gallo
A refreshing combination of sweetness and tanginess, this pico de gallo is perfect with tortilla chips, tacos, quesadillas or even a giant spoon!
Remember when I shared my awesome news about quitting my job and moving to SF? Well, today is my first official day without a day job and I am loving it. I mean, sleeping in on Monday morning? Yeah, sounds like heaven to me. Except my day will also involve some major packing and apartment/job hunting. And not to mention, I have a mile-high stack of dirty laundry to take care of.
Going back to work doesn’t sound too bad at this point.
But as I carry out my home duties of cooking, cleaning, packing, stopping by the dry cleaners and a million other things on my list, I’ll definitely be munching on this strawberry avocado pico de gallo throughout the day.
Now if you’ve been following Damn Delicious for a while, I’m sure you’ve noticed that I am obsessed with avocados, especially with California Avocados. And as we’re right in the middle of avocado peak season (April-October), I’m trying to get in as many avocado recipes as I can. So with a full bag of tortilla chips, I set out into the kitchen to make some pico de gallo but with a carton of fresh strawberries lingering around, I just had to make it with a strawberry base.
Loaded with fresh lime juice and chopped up cilantro leaves, sweet mango and a little bit of jalapeño for a spicy kick, this pico de gallo is the perfect topper to spice up any meal! Or you could always grab a spoon and dive in. Either way, just have that spoon ready. You never know when you’ll need it!

I had some extra strawberries and this recipe caught my eye. Well, it’s delicious. Interesting combination. I am a novice when it comes to cooking but I found this to be simple and inexpensive as well. Peace!
Can i can this?
What a great idea! But unfortunately, without having tried this myself, I cannot answer with certainty. But if you get a chance to try it, please let me know how it turns out! 🙂
Made this tonight to go with chicken enchiladas and it was FABULOUS!!!!
Thank you for this recipe! It was a Huge hit at the party I took it to! I omitted the jalapenos for fear of being too spicy for a wide audience and omitted the cilantro by accident. Making it again today! 🙂
This recipe turned out great! It’s such a great mix of flavors, especially for a fruit lover like me.
I made this because the picture looks fantastic ~ but, honestly, I did not expect it to be good. Boy, was I wrong! This is every bit as good as it looks. I used a bit more honey and crunched the tortilla chips up and put on top, simply cuz it was easier. Yum-O!
