Strawberry Basil Meyer Lemonade
Refreshing Meyer lemonade with fresh pureed strawberries and basil – it’s the perfect summer drink!
I don’t know about you guys but I am so ready for the weekend. My Memorial Day weekend did a number on me and I still need to recuperate before spending 8-10 hours at the office. I mean, with the perfect LA weather, bloody mary contests and massive gyro sandwiches, I could sure use a break.
But my favorite part about the long weekend was spending time with my niece and nephews. They helped out in the kitchen, baking up a storm, to whip up some homemade snickerdoodle cookies for grandma and her church group.
But of course, they had to take a quesadilla break first. I wonder what they thought was so funny here.
And then comes the best part – rolling the dough in cinnamon sugar. My nephew kept licking his hands off to get all of the cinnamon sugar in his mouth. We all had to keep a close eye on him.
And of course here is their masterpiece – the most artistic, most rustic snickerdoodle cookies, all stuck together. What, didn’t you hear? This is the new trend.
So with dessert set, all that was left to do was to throw some hot dogs on the grill and create a refreshing strawberry basil lemonade beverage to go alongside our meal. Now when it comes to hot dogs, I always go with Hebrew National. It’s my absolute, most trusted hot dog brand since I was a kid and I honestly cannot trust anything else. Plus, when summer comes around, I’m constantly using Hebrew National for all of my meals because at the end of the day, hot dogs are good for any time of the day – breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a midnight snack. I totally wouldn’t judge if it was all of the above. Believe me when I say, we’ve all been there. Oh and with a cold glass of lemonade, life is just perfect.

I made this and it was AMAZING! I bought 4 lemons and didn’t have quite a whole cup of lemon juice, I had 3/4 i believe. It was still just as lemony. I’ll probably cut it with a little more water as well, the concentration was quite strong. I like it sweet, but if I cut it with more water it will last longer too. 🙂 Thank you for the recipe!
