One Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta
The easiest and creamiest pasta made in a single pot – even the pasta gets cooked right in the pan! How easy is that?
Garlic and parmesan. A match made in heaven. And with the help of a single pan, you can make the easiest, most epic pasta ever.
Just think of this as a creamy alfredo, except without the heavy cream and the cream cheese. And no, taste is not compromised in this super easy one pot meal.
The one pan aspect actually helps the noodles soak up all that amazing flavor, giving you that light cream sauce coating the noodles in all its garlic-Parmesan glory.
And if you really want to save on dishes, you know my rule – this should get eaten straight out of the pot. The dishes, the plating, the garnishes – it’ll just slow you down anyway!
One Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk, or more, as needed
- 8 ounces uncooked fettuccine
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in chicken broth, milk and fettuccine; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked through, about 18-20 minutes. Stir in Parmesan. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk as needed until desired consistency is reached.
- Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.

Love this recipe! Turned out perfectly and was so tasty. No changes
Love this…I used 2% milk and honestly I thought I was eating the high fat Alfredo!
This was definitely delicious! I will be making this again. Thank you
Quick and easy delicious meal
DELICIOUS! Pet peeve! People who review recipes they’ve altered. HELLO. If you’ve altered it, its not the same recipe. This recipe is awesome just the way it’s written. Goes with anything, kids love and great for potlucks! Thanks
I love when people review and add their alterations because it just goes to show. What can we use? If you don’t have or don’t like or can’t afford or allergic to something. Usually when I find these recipes because I’m looking for alterations.
I’ve made this a few times and LOVE it. It’s creamy and amazingly delicious!
I do have a question, I want to make this again tomorrow night but I do not have any fettuccine. Would I be able to make this successfully with the Rotini pasta I have in pantry. I only worry that the liquid wouldn’t cover the pasta and may make some of it harder than others. Maybe if I put it in a saucepan instead of skillet? Thoughts?
I just had to leave a review for this recipe because it is easy, delicious and quick. I added a 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes and a pinch of dried oregano to amp the flavor. This is my go to pasta sauce because it is so easy and so flavorful. Thanks!
I love this recipe and use it frequently. I’m not a fan of store bought alfredo sauces, and this one is so easy to make! It’s the only one I’ll ever use. It’s also easy to throw in some chicken or shrimp to make it a fuller meal.
So asy to make and so delicious. Great as is butwould also be good with chicken or shrimp
I haven’t made any recipes yet but I’m going to
Really, really good. This was exactly what I wanted. Garlicky, peppery, chickeny, creamy goodness. I subbed quinoa/brown rice spaghetti and shaved off 5 minutes cooking time. It was perfect. Next time I’ll add broccoli and maybe ground chicken. Julienned carrots might also add a nice touch.
I still make this regularly. My entire family loves it.
This was delicious- I roasted some broccoli and mushrooms in garlic and Parmesan and put it on top of the pasta – yum highly recommend it, will become a firm favourite
Outstanding! So easy. Served with grilled chicken. Whole family loved it. Added finely chopped cooked broccoli at the end and my vegetable hating kids even smashed it. Doubled the recipe and added extra parm. Definitely going into the rotation.
This was very simple and very delicious! I was kind of generous with the garlic. I did not have any milk so I did half heavy cream half water. I really like that this is not as heavy as Alfredo. I will definitely be making this again.
So quick and easy! Would definitely make again.
Made it with a combo of almond and lite soy milk and used red lentil spirals. I reduced the amount of water due lentil pasta cook time less than that of wheat-based pasta, so had to top up mid cook. Nonetheless, it turned out creamy and tasty – amazing! Will definitely make again!
the website title does not lie. this was damn delicious. i am. OBSESSED!
It was delicious and quick and easy to make! Added some broccoli, next time I’m thinking chicken.
WOW!!! Absolutely delicious meal!!! I was going to add chicken, but then when I tried it, I just COULDN’T add anything else; there was no need to! Simple, fast, and so much flavor. Definitely going into my rotation fir meals!!!
Blown away by how simple it was to make and how delicious it was! 🙂 Saved me on a lazy night when I am too lazy to cook much, too miser to order in haha thanks!!
