Chicken Alfredo Roll Ups
The easiest, no-fuss chicken alfredo you will ever make, conveniently stuffed in the butteriest roll ever!
Have you ever tried those tubes of crescent rolls before? Because if you haven’t, you’re really missing out.
Crescent rolls are one of the most versatile ingredients ever, and they’re so easy to use too.
I’ve made pigs in a blanket, mummy hot dogs and even pizza roll ups using these, although the crescent rolls itself are pretty darn good.
But nothing really tops this creation here with the most epic filling of all: chicken alfredo.
It is the most amazing, creamiest filling you will ever have, loaded with Parmesan-garlicky goodness, all neatly wrapped up in a buttery crescent roll.
To top it off, these babies are covered in Italian breadcrumbs for that extra flavor, and you can even top it off with a super easy homemade cheese sauce.
But the cheese sauce is definitely an added bonus because these babies are still amazing by themselves!
Chicken Alfredo Roll Ups
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
- ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 8-ounce tube crescent rolls
- ½ cup Italian style bread crumbs
For the optional cheese sauce
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- ½ cup milk
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese, or more, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a medium skillet over medium high heat.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, to taste. Add to skillet and cook, flipping once, until cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Let cool before shredding.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken, cream cheese, Parmesan, chives, garlic powder, salt and pepper, to taste.
- Remove rolls from the can, separating them into eight triangles. Top each triangle with a heaping tablespoon of the chicken mixture.
- Starting with the wide end, roll up each triangle, tucking the ends underneath, and dredge in bread crumbs, pressing to coat. Place seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
- To make the cheese sauce, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, and cook, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Stir in cheese, a handful at a time, until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
- Serve crescent rolls immediately, drizzled with cheese sauce. campaignIcon Coupons

I just found your website. I have already tried your slow cooker corn chowder recipe and it was FANTASTIC! I am definitely going to try the honey salmon next and then maybe a one pot pasta recipe. I am excited to find such easy, quick and approachable recipes that actually taste great! I’m a fan for sure! Thanks for sharing your stuff.
I haven’t found a variety of chicken rolled in crescent rolls that I don’t love. I know I’m going to love these, too. Can’t wait to try them!
There are lots of US recipes for crescent rolls and canned biscuits which we can’t get in nz. Can you tell me what kind of pastry it is ie short crust or am I completely off the mark?
I’m not entirely sure if it can be classified like that. But please feel free to browse for DIY crescent roll/biscuit dough, available on the web.
These are so yummy! My kids can’t have cream cheese though, so I plan to try this with marinara instead of cream cheese. Wish me luck!
Made these last night with some slight variations. They were sooooo good!!!
I made these a couple of days ago; significantly reduced the amount of cream cheese but they were still so good! I have to admit I’m a little obsessed with crescent rolls now. I constantly keep thinking what I can fill them with. Last night, I put some cheddar and some Italian seasoning for spruced up dinner rolls AND put a teaspoon of Nutella and a caramel candy in some others to make quick, easy, delicious dessert rolls. Thank you for a lovely recipe and all the inspiration!
I’m glad that I have all the ingredients on hand so I can make these.. they look SO delicious, especially with all that cheese sauce drizzled ontop. I love how quick they are to prepare too!
ooooh so simple and so delicious!
I live in New Zealand and we don’t get crescent roll in a tin what can I substitute with please thank you
You can try making homemade crescent rolls if you’d like. There are a lot of copycat recipes available online.
I have a recipe for sweet rolls that can be used for crescents…really easy..email me if you would like it.
I usually use crescent rolls for sweet treats but I love this savory idea! So good!
Stop it. Stop it. Stop it! This looks SO GOOD! I have never been more excited to try a recipe. Love crescents rolls and I can’t believe you stuffed them with cheeese and chicken. Yum!
These look so good. I want to pop the whole tray right in my mouth. YUM!
Can you make these ahead of time and just pop in the oven when ready
I have never tried making this ahead of time but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I just recommend leaving it in the fridge prior to baking.
I make things like this all the time and you should parbake them first, otherwise they get soggy. Just bake them until they are about 75% done. Let them cool completely and then put them in the fridge. When you want to eat them, toss them in the oven to finish. Makes for an even faster dinner (and one a husband can handle…if your husband is culinarily challenged like mine).
I love chicken alfredo but have never ate it any way besides just pasta. This looks like such a fun and yummy twist.
Pinned!
OMG! Made these for supper tonight! everyone LOVED them! I’ve yet to make anything from your site that wasn’t a hit!
These look so great Chungah! I love surprise rolls like this, always go down a treat! I don’t know anywhere here that sells crescent pastry though, but I shall keep my eyes out now 😀 x
Love your recipes, and print most of them, thank you! Over this last year I have become more and more aware that food in general has become “food product” full of chemicals and pesticides (GMOs) so I have stopped using premade products like Crescent rolls (which I loved for years) and would love to see more recipes, from you, that didn’t contain ingredients that are in the processed food category. I know it saves time to use processed food, but at what cost? Thanks again for your great recipes!
Darlene, 95% of my recipes do not include processed ingredients but sometimes shortcuts like crescent rolls are needed – especially on those nights where you just don’t have the time!
Just a little note- I’m not super strict on my food choices, but I have found that Trader Joe’s has a (slightly better) option for canned crescent rolls (no hydrogenated oil or preservatives.) I make most of my food from scratch with natural ingredients but sometimes I run across quick and yummy-looking recipes like this that I really want to try and I’ll use those guys for a better option! Just thought I’d mention it for those who might be interested! 🙂
I agree, there are times when a short cut is necessary, and no harm done. Hiding shredded carrots and/or zucchini would also boost the nutrition factor.
Trader Joes has crescent rolls without frightening chemicals in them. These are the ones I use because I, too, try to eliminate as much processed junk as possible. Operative word “try!”
These look so delicious I can’t wait to try them, thanks.
Did you mean 1 pound of chicken breast? I assume so since the recipe calls for 8 oz of cream cheese. Makes sense quantity wise, but wanted to verify. I love your recipes and am so happy I came across your site. Think I’ll make these for my grand daughter’s lunch tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your love for cooking.
Kyra, the recipe is correct. 1 chicken breast should be sufficient as some chicken breasts can actually weigh up to a pound!
Crescent rolls are so versatile! I love how you used them here! I usually use them to make quickie cinnamon rolls or Nutella rolls. I wish I was like you and could use them for dinner ideas rather than desserts 🙂
