But don’t eat too much of the glaze – you’ll need it for your French toast because it’s a million times better than maple syrup.

Decided to try this today and OMG!!!!!! I did substitute King’s Hawaiian rolls in place of the bread. I took four rolls together and flattened them slightly. Everything else was the same. Easy, Delicious and just a fantastic recipe. I highly recommend making this!

I’m AMAZED!!!! This is the best French toast I’ve had. Both of my teenage boys loved it. I was skeptical about the dipping it in the cinnamon sugar. Very happy to say I was wrong. It is not too sweet, and the glaze is amazing. I did add more cream cheese. It helped balance the cinnamon sugar coating. If you haven’t tried this, it’s a must!!!!! TYSM for the recipe. WE LOVED IT❤️❤️❤️

  3. Are you able to make this the night before?

  4. Oh my. My mouth is watering and I’m not even hungry!

    • I think this site was great. But could they have said how to make the icing? Unless I didn’t see it that’s kindof sad don’t you think. I love it though. My daughter loved it too. If i had to rate it 0 to 5 i would give it 4. Ha Ha Ha i can’t believe I just did that. I am so freaked truthful. Dang i need to shut. My point is 4 is the rating. Bit I love this site.

      • The instructions for the icing (cream cheese glaze) is listed in the very first step.

        1. To make the cream cheese glaze, combine cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth; set aside.

  5. Yes!!! Thank you so much for this recipe!!! I made it for my husband this morning for his birthday breakfast and he loved it and my kids actually ate breakfast!!!

  6. This may seem like a dense question, but do you put two tablespoons of butter in the skillet each time you replace the bread (after the first two slices cook and you put in two more)?

  7. looks delicious, going to try!

  8. This is actually a traditional Spanish dessert called “Torrijas”

  9. This was absolutely delicious!! I didn’t have the haiwaiian bread but regular bread worked well. My husband will be happy to come home to this. Great recipe!!!

  10. Love the idea & recipe!!! Just bought Pepperidge Farm Apple & Caramel Bread, a seasonal bread & will use it to make this breakfast this AM!

  12. Costco makes a cinnamon streusel bread – It works well with this recipe also!

    • That sounds amazing – I’ll definitely have to try that next time!

      • Made it this morning – was a definite keeper! Gave my boys a taste while they were getting out of bed and man did it help motivate them to get up and around.

  13. Oh wow…this looks delicious! I’m always trying to find great breakfast ideas. I will be making this!

  14. This French toast is truly the best we have ever had. Am I suppose to use a mixer to mix the cream cheese? Mine had a few lumps but did not deter anyone from gobbling up every delicious slice. Thanks.

  21. Hi…Great looking recipe. I just want to clarify before I make a big mess, you sprinkle each side with the cinnamon sugar after you cook it not before ??? Thanks

  22. Our local grocery store does not sell the King Hawaiian bread but does sell the round bread. If I had them slice a loaf of the round bread would it still work for this recipe? Thanks.

  23. I luv churros…the best part is how crunchy they are from the cinnamon and sugar coating this french toast looks like it hits all those bells and whistles.

  24. This sounds fabulous…but can you please give a description of the Hawaiian bread…..I’m in Australia & have never seen this. I’m hoping to find something similar. Many thanks. Loving your recipes!!

  26. Breakfast food is my weakness…and this looks like absolute perfection! That cream cheese glaze would no doubt go straight to my mouth with a spoon. Pinning this!
