Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos
Super crisp shrimp tacos drizzled with the most amazing and epic sweet creamy chili sauce. It’ll be hard to just stop at 1, or 10!
You know that popular bang bang chicken dish?
Well, I basically re-created that, subbed in shrimp, and stuffed it in some tacos.
I know. Genius here.
Now you can stuff 3 shrimp per taco.
Or you can shoot for the moon and stuff 4-6.
And don’t forget about that sweet chili sauce. It’s purpose is for drizzling, dunking or slathering as needed.

OK this is amazing! I try a-lot of difference recipes but rarely have much to say in response to the out come. This recipe is a little work but so worth it! The shrimp batter was enough to make 2lbs of shrimp which we used on a salad the next day.
Looks delicious! Can’t wait to try. Can I bake the shrimp and get the same/similar crispy results? If so what temperature and for how long ?
They were delicious. I held back a little on the bang because I don’t know hot spicy my son will eat. They only thing I wasn’t crazy about was when I put the shrimp in the panko, the panko would get clumpy and even though I had plenty of panko in the bowl, I would have to pour more because the clumps wouldn’t stick to the batter. All in all, they were excellent!
This was super amazing, the sauce and slaw are perfect. Trying tonight with tofu and hoping its super great like the shrimp. Thank you so much, love your site
This was delicious!!!! My family really enjoyed it. The sauce was so good. Made the shrimp in the air fryer. Made the slaw and the sauce ahead of time (In the morning). Thanks for a great recipe!!!!
I haven’t tried this yet, but could I make the shrimp in an air fryer??
The definition of the perfect bite. These tacos have become a favorite in my house.
I made these tacos last night my boyfriend and his mom loved them. I actually used Sriracha hot sauce and 2 packets of honey for the sauce, it was delicious as well as the shrimp! Thank you for such an amazing recipe.
So good! Even reheated well on a stone in the oven. We are changing our go to bang bang shrimp recipe to this one!
Thank you for such a yummy recipe! This was soooo good! I had to sub milk for buttermilk and made my own sweet chili sauce since I didn’t have any on hand. The slaw and sauce were amazing! I used the air fryer for the shrimp so the cooking process was pretty quick. They came out great! I will definitely be putting this in our rotation.
How LONG in the air fryer & at what temp???
Just want to say your website has inspired me to try so many different recipes…..all have been so amazing and I just want to keep trying more 🙂 We tried these tacos this evening and cannot believe how tasty they are. YUMMY! Thank you!
We wanted to try something different for dinner and I came across this recipe. I’m so glad I did..this recipe was amazing!! My daughter loved helping me make it and my husband couldn’t stop raving about it.
Thank you! Can’t wait to try even more of your recipes!
Thank you for sharing this easy yet delicious recipe. My family and I really loved it! A 5 -star shrimp tacos :))
I want to try this. what kind of sweet chili sauce do you use?
I use Mae Ploy. 🙂
Another hit! OMG, this is now the only taco I will ever make! I’ll admit, I was super lazy and bought frozen breaded shrimp, but still delicious, which means if I ever decide not to be lazy, they’ll be even more amazing. You are now my go to food blog. If I find a recipe on another blog, I come here and search for something similar and use your recipe instead. Just wanted to send a big thanks for spicing up my kitchen!
That’s such a huge compliment! Thank you, Kelly!
I do the same thing! (Find a recipe elsewhere, then search for the DD version). We eat DD most nights of the week now.
If I had seen this recipe on any other blog, not only would I have moved on the the next, I would probably have done an eye roll as well. BUT, your recipes have never failed me, and this one did not either!
I was a bit hesitant about mixing together the egg, flour, cornstarch and buttermilk all together. “Tradition” tells us that we coat the food to be fried in flour (or cornstarch), then a quick bath in beaten egg, and then into the crumbs. Your “combine it all together” made such an amazing, clinging mix for the panko to cling to. My shrimp (and chicken tenders for my daughter) came our amazing!
Thank you so much. I’ve been cooking for over 50 years, but you can still teach an old dog new tricks.
That’s so great to hear! Glad it turned out so well!
Do you serve these in raw corn tortillas? That does not appeal to me at all.
Yes, these are served as tacos.
Can’t wait to try these tacos. My husband hates cilantro, what to do?
You can ommit it or substitute with something else that he likes.
These were so amazing, I can’t believe I have never made them before. So crispy and flavorful, I used corn/flour mix tortillas. My husband loved them so much, I can’t wait to make them again!
Hello,
I was looking at the nutritional facts and getting a bit confused with “Serving per container 12” – do you mean this recipe makes 12 tacos? Also because I am looking into increasing my protein intake, is it 15.9 gram of protein per each taco? Sorry I am new to the world of meal planning.
Yes, this recipe yields 12 servings. The nutritional information is, however, for a single serving. Hope that helps!
I made these Shrimp Tacos and they were Amazing!! My Man flipped for them! Thank you for sharing I don’t need to go to any restaurant again for a shrimp taco because I can make these at home
