Sheet Pan Garlic Butter Salmon
A complete sheet pan supper with ONE PAN to clean! With roasted potatoes and green beans with the BEST garlic butter sauce!
Our St. Patty’s day was rough.
Really rough.
We missed dinner.
And inhaled a massive cheeseboard instead.
With mini donuts.
And some more cheese.
See?
I told you.
It was rough.
To recover, I have this.
Because you know I love a garlic butter sauce.
I mean, I’m drinking this sauce for breakfast.
But don’t worry.
It’s all balanced out with those green beans.
Sheet Pan Garlic Butter Salmon
Ingredients
- 1 pound baby red potatoes
- 2 pounds salmon
- 8 ounces green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
For the garlic butter sauce
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly oil a baking sheet or coat with nonstick spray.
- In a small bowl, whisk together butter, brown sugar, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, thyme and rosemary; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Set aside.
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook potatoes until parboiled for 12-15 minutes; drain well.
- Place potatoes, salmon and green beans in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Drizzle green beans and potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Spoon the butter mixture over the salmon.
- Place into oven and cook until the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 16-18 minutes.
- Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.

Just so good. I didn’t have green beans, so I subbed asparagus instead. Used olive oil for part of the butter on the fish-the combo of those spices is simply killer!
Making this again tonight. Sometimes I leave the brown sugar out, other times I put it in. Tonight, it is in, and I cannot wait to eat! Hubby isn’t a big fan of salmon, so more for me!!!!!!!!!! Awesome, awesome recipe. I pass it along every chance I get.
My kids 7 and 10 love this dinner! Quick and easy to put together. Looks fancy when we have company as well.
Hi
I would like to make this recipe. I love all your recipes i have tried so far! Do you have the nutritional facts for the recipe please?
Thanks
Trish
Good flavor but turned out really greasy and I didn’t even use all the butter mixture. Could have been fatty salmon in addition to the butter that created the grease, but not my favorite.
This was quick, easy and delicious! The salmon was so perfectly cooked!
Wow! I follow (and make) your recipes regularly and am very rarely disappointed. This was superb. I love salmon and am always looking for new ways to make it. The combo with the potatoes and green beans in one pan is genius! The garlic butter was about twice as much as I thought I needed, but no worries. I brushed it over the extra potatoes and green beans I made in a separate pan. BTW, my no-fail way to determine if salmon is done: cook it skin side down and when it slides easily out of the skin … voila!
So excited to try this recipe tomorrow evening! I’m a Type 1 Diabetic. Do you think it will be a problem to omit the brown sugar from the recipe? Any suggestions on a substitute, or do you think the recipe will be okay without it? Thank you!
Cody, you can absolutely omit the brown sugar to suit your dietary restrictions. 🙂
This is seriously so dam good…. I adore this dish… Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks, Pat! So glad you enjoyed it!
I followed this recipe to the T. It was delicious! I have yet to make a recipe of Chungah’s that is not a hit!
We love that, Barbara! Please try them all! 🙂
Just tried the salmon portion this evening and it was tasty. This summer I’d like to try it with fresh lemon juice. I am always on the lookout for good seasoning for salmon so I look forward to trying your other salmon recipes as well.
Looks great! Could I pre-roast the potatoes instead of par-boiling them (for the same time)? One less pan to wash.
Sure!
This looks so good. Can you give some ideas what else to serve. I am thinking we could have this Christmas eve, but my family does not like roast potatoes, so I can make other things on the side (does not need to be cooked in the same pan). I am not a cook like you.
I went to your site to look up ideas for Christmas eve and here is why…
everything I have made is amazing and I want to say thank you. In fact, our daughter wanted so badly to have Chick Filet for her 13th birthday but it was a Sunday and they were closed, also it is 40 minutes away. I found your recipe, and oh my goodness! I don’t like fast food, definitely do not find chic filet to be in the “amazing” category but your recipe and honey sauce…. TO DIE FOR. You are very talented, and I think you must be a very nice person too, because the way you write and it comes across is truly inspirational. Thank you so much!
Aw, you are just the sweetest, Laura! Thank you! And yes, you can serve this with other vegetables such as green beans, zucchini, tomatoes, etc. Hope that helps!
Feel free to check out my favorite side dishes here.
Absolutely delicious. Best salmon I’ve ever made! I omitted the rosemary bc I feel it would’ve been too powerful a flavor. I added more oregano. I also used all fresh herbs from the garden. I like my salmon cooked a bit more than most, so I increased the temp too 400 degrees and added an additional 5 minutes to the cooking time. Fish was still tender and oh so flavorful. Thank you for a fresh tasting salmon recipe that isn’t drowning with ingredients.
Thanks for sharing with us!
I didn’t think enough in advance to pull my salmon out of the freezer. How would you adjust this recipe using frozen instead of fresh salmon? Thanks!
Chelsey, cooking time will have to be adjusted as needed but without further recipe testing, I cannot answer with certainty. As always, please use your best judgment when making substitutions and modifications.
I made this last night – it was delicious! I think 16-18min in the oven was the perfect cooking time; the salmon came out great.
I think in the future, I will have fun experimenting with different butter mixes. Maybe whisking in dill and adding lemon pepper would be yummy, too.
It was my first time cooking green beans, so I think I should have done more to make them flavorful. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you for this website, Chungah! I am learning a lot about cooking.
That’s so great to hear! Thank you for sharing your experience!
Just made your garlic butter salmon, substituted asparagus spears for the green beans. My wife and I both inhaled this meal. Loved it! Thanks for the great recipes!
Hi Tim! Did you keep the cooking time and oven temperature the same as the recipe when you swapped green beans with asparagus? I was thinking asparagus would be a great combination, too!
Also, my son doesn’t like trying new foods, but the other day when I told him we were going to try one of Chungah’s recipes he was excited to try it 🙂
My family loves this recipe so much!!! My son even requested this for his 6th birthday dinner. Absolutely delicious!
Thank you so much for your recipes – I hated cooking because I never knew what to cook and wasn’t very good at it. I’ve had many Pinterest fails but after trying a few of your recipes, I’m starting to enjoy it more and eating it too 🙂
I made this tonight for my family. My 2 toddlers loved it. Even said it was the best dinner ever! It was delicious and so easy!
