Corn Flakes French Toast Sticks
These make for the perfect, quick and easy breakfast for everyone in the family!
Happy Sunday! Notice anything different?
Damn Delicious has FINALLY gotten a makeover! It was way overdue and as much of a headache it’s been with the sleepless nights and continuous angry fights with CSS coding, I am very happy with it. There’s still some more work that needs to be done so if you receive a 404 error message, please bear with me. You can always contact me if you need a specific recipe.
Now to celebrate the face-lift of Damn Delicious, I decided to share these epic French toast sticks that are absolutely TO DIE FOR. I was inspired by the Corn Flakes crusted French toast from the Biltmore when I stayed there for the CA ambassador trip so the minute we came home, I just had to recreate it.
The Corn Flakes creates such an amazing crunchy exterior base, wonderfully complementing the fluffiness of the bread slices. And turning them into sticks just makes it more fun to eat for both kids and grown-ups!

Do you use regular cornflakes (like Total or Special K) or sweetened cornflakes (like Frosted Flakes)?
SPecial K or Total should work just fine.

I was looking all over for a good breakfast food for a campout! And I found one! LOOKS SO YUMMY!
Just made these! This is a nice alternative to regular French Toast. I don’t make it that often but I do love it. The crunch is what makes it — and it is a special treat, esp if served with real maple syrup. YUM!

Is there supposed to be any sugar in the egg mixture? I was excited to eat these this morning, but it didn’t turn out the way I’d hoped. The syrup helped to sweeten it, but I found mine to still be bland. Any tips?
Rachel, the main purpose of the corn flakes is to provide that wonderful crunchy texture, not taste. I do not recommend serving these on their own – it’s just like any kind of french toast or pancake recipe – butter and syrup are needed!

Wow, excellent variation. The only other “unique” french toast recipe I’ve heard of was with garlic and grated parmesan cheese. I think after seeing this one it is pretty much taking the #1 spot.
I have been looking for something like this to get my Wolfgang Puck’s Cornflake Bagel French Toast…one of the very best things I have ever eaten! I guarantee I will be trying this this weekend..thank you for sharing!
Just found you via Pinterest ..loving the blog!
This is my first visit to your blog, and I have to say I’m in love!!!! All these recipes look and sound amazing! Can’t wait to make my weekly dinner menu this week! 😀 And I’m making corn flake french toast here in about…mmm….5 mins!
Let me know how the french toast turns out – it’s my favorite kind of breakfast!
So yummy! Myself and my 3 little men gobbled them up! Thanks! 🙂
I’m so glad! You just reminded me that I need to make this again!
I make French toast with sour dough bread like this, except I use cornflakes mixed with nuts and honey granola. I crush them making them smaller us it for the coating after dipping the bread in the egg-wash. Top this with fresh sliced fruit. WONDERFUL!!!!!! It has become a Christmas morning tradition!!!!!!!
I didn’t have corn flakes so I used Frosted Flakes and they were awesome. Thanks for the idea!
What a fun substitution – I’ll definitely have to try that next time!
Just wanted to say, “I loved the recipe. So did the kids.” For what it’s worth, I used ‘Texas Toast’ for my bread. Designed for French toast anyway, what I enjoy about it is its thickness, about an inch. Cutting 1″ square sticks was a breeze. Take care!
