Berry Green Smoothie
Make-ahead freezer friendly smoothies that are healthy, nutritious and so refreshing for your mornings!
Ever since I started to work from home, I need every excuse to get out of the house into the real world. That’s when I started to walk down the street to Starbucks and the donut store for a morning treat before I start my work day. But obviously the donut calories are not doing me any kind of justice. So with bikini season right around the corner, I decided to change up my morning routine with a healthy green smoothie.
But instead of having a green-green smoothie, I decided to throw in some frozen berries that I had on hand. Now I love all kinds of berries but I’ve found that blueberries and raspberries make a great flavor combo. Plus, you’ll get that extra antioxidant boost! From there, I also added in a banana for some natural sweetness and old fashioned oats to keep you nice and full until lunch time.
You can also freeze individual smoothie packs in a Ziploc bag using your favorite combination of fruits. You can have a different smoothie every day, and it doesn’t get easier than throwing everything straight from the Ziploc bag to the blender! There’s absolutely no thawing needed. All you need to is add your milk and oats when you’re ready to blend. Super easy, right?

Banana smoothie!Yummy !
Green smoothie!
I would love to try this smoothie recipe using this new blender!!!
I’m a big smoothie fan, but have an old blender. What I learned from this post is the idea of portioning/freezing the appropriate ingredients together so you more readily grab and go. Thanks for the tip and hope I win a new blender!
I’d make this smoothie! The Berry Green Smoothie sounds so good!
Green smoothies are on the top of my “make when a blender is acquired” list.
Would love a powerful blender!
Smoothie looks beyond amazing! Can’t wait to try it!
I have not had a smoothie in years although i used to make them for my mother each morning while i cared for her. The lack of a blender really slows you down. But my specialty used to be ice cubes, orange juice, either plain or vanilla yogurt, banana and either strawberries, or blueberries, or pineapple. I had wanted to try mango but cannot find the really terrific tasting ones and was tempted to just use canned. Thank you for this opportunity.
I can tell you this post has help convince me to do something other than an egg breakfast for myself! Thank you! I would make this smoothie first!
I will definitely make this smoothie! Yum!
I’d make a margarita!
This looks great. I can’t get my kids to try green smoothies, but I bet they would try this beautiful purple one! Smart!
First thing I would make would be a delicious homemade shamrock shake! Perfect for this upcoming Monday 🙂
This looks yummy! Can’t wait to try!
I have been doing a 15 day reboot of two green smoothies a day so my first thing would be a green smoothie.
Being a person who isn’t so keen on berries that are tart, I would make my favorite ‘yellow’ tropical smoothie: mango vanilla pineapple banana coconut heaven. It’s pretty much a vacation every time I drink it 🙂
Yum, looks great!! My boys LOVE blueberries! Will definately make this.
I live in the south so whatever seasonal fruit is available. Right now it’s a strawberry surprise fest every day.
