Pizza Roll Ups
These cheesy 5-ingredient pizza roll-ups come together so quickly and easily without the fuss. Perfect for snacking or game day!
After making those mini deep dish pizzas, I’ve been on a major mini pepperoni kick. After all, I still have about 3 more bags of those pepperonis to use up after my last hoarding experience.
And with a lingering can of crescent rolls I found in the back of my fridge, these epic roll-ups were created.
Best of all, these roll-ups require just 5 ingredients. Yes, only 5.
And if you can’t find those mini pepperonis, you can still whip these up with the regular-size ones. Just be sure to quarter them before using.
Oh and the string cheese. You can’t forget about that. You’d be amazed as to how a simple ingredient like string cheese can melt into the gooey-est cheese ever.
After you roll up these bad boys, these babies get baked to golden brown perfection…
Slathered with buttery goodness. This is a completely optional step but I highly recommend it.
From there, all you have to do is dig in while that cheese is amazingly stringy, oozing with all that pepperoni goodness.
Just be sure to double the batch for game day because I promise you – these will be the first to disappear!
Pizza Roll Ups
Ingredients
- 1 8-ounce tube crescent rolls
- ½ cup mini pepperonis
- 4 string cheese sticks, halved
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.
- Remove rolls from the can, separating them into eight triangles. Top each triangle with 1 tablespoon mini pepperonis and a halved cheese stick.
- Starting with the wide end, roll up each triangle, tucking the ends underneath. Place seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together butter and Italian seasoning.
- Serve crescent rolls immediately, brushed with butter mixture.

Absolutely love!!!!!!! Made this for my husband and I! It was so delicious that we then made it for my parents and all 4 of us loved them! 12/10 recommend! We even cooked hamburger to go with the pepperoni and that was amazing!
Super easy and delicious! All ages enjoyed it thoroughly. I doubled the recipe to feed 5 people for dinner.
We make these every couple months in our house- in fact, we just had them last night! However, I use shredded cheese because, like other posters commented, the cheesesticks don’t melt all the way (and because we have a child that doesn’t like so much cheese, so I can add less cheese to his). I brush the tops with a garlic powder/oregano/butter mixture BEFORE baking, and we dunk them in pasta sauce while eating. Yum!
It’s Friday, for sure this will be on our table tonight. As always, thank you for your mouthwatering recipes.
There is a mini Turkey pepperoni as well – would lighten up the calories.
I’m going to make these for a potluck in my study hall. I’m really excited to see how these turn out. I’m hoping to impress my peers and my teacher.
Thank you for the post! Simple and yummy to make! 🙂
Can I freeze these?
Unfortunately, I cannot answer this with certainty as I have never tried freezing this myself – there were no leftovers left to freeze! Please use your best judgment for freezing and reheating.
Can these be baked then placed in the freezer for another day?

Would adding a little pizza sauce hurt…like using a brush to place a thin layer on it before adding the pepperonni and the cheese stick? Maybe for the other lady , cut the cheese stick in 1/2 or cover with foil and let bake a little longer.
Adding pizza sauce sounds like a great idea!
Just made these for my grandson for lunch and he loved them! I was wondering if they could be made with puff pastry…I really don’t care for the sweetness of the crescent rolls.
I actually have not tried this with puff pastry myself but that sounds like a great substitution!
Umm, what if I use pre shredded mexican mix?
Yes, that’ll work!
These are going in the table on Super Sunday this year.
made these for the play-off games and were to die for!! Will make these again
I made these last night and they were delicious! I wouldn’t change a thing. These are my new go to appetizers.
I’ve made these more times than I can count. My boys LOVE them! As a matter of fact, they are on my older son’s birthday menu next month! 😉 So I was wondering, would it work assembling them the night before & bake them before serving? I think it would be ok but I’m asking the expert. hehe
I haven’t tried it myself but it should work just fine. Although I recommend leaving them in the fridge overnight to prevent any spoilage.
Oh yeah, definitely! I think I’ll give it a try. They usually take very lil time to make but I’m making 40!
Hi :)how did they come out when you left them in the fridge overnight?also want to do that

I made these for a small get together of 10 women and they were a big hit. This is a combination that can’t be beat.
I just made these and they are SO good!!! What a great little snack!
I made these last weekend, had to triple the recipe and we dipped it in spaghetti sauce! Let me say, my kids LOVE YOU for this! One thing, the cheese sticks didnt really melt all the way. They softened a lot, but it wasnt melty cheese that I would have liked. I used mozzerella… any ideas? I even tried cooking them longer
String cheese can get super “stringy”, if you know what I mean. You can try freshly shredded mozzarella for next time, although that may just be more work for you!
