Churro French Toast
The most amazing, most buttery French toast you will ever have, coated in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with an epic cream cheese glaze!
This may just be the best French toast in the entire world. No joke.
After all, you can’t possibly beat a buttery French toast dish using sweet Hawaiian bread slices and then coating these bad boys in cinnamon sugar. There’s just too much goodness happening here.
And you can’t forget about that cream cheese glaze. The glaze that’s so good, you’ll start guzzling it down with a spoon.
But don’t eat too much of the glaze – you’ll need it for your French toast because it’s a million times better than maple syrup.

If you make your own bread from scratch this recipe will be the best French toast you ever had. Joshua Weissman has great bread recipes to use for this. Highly recommended!!!!
Decided to try this today and OMG!!!!!! I did substitute King’s Hawaiian rolls in place of the bread. I took four rolls together and flattened them slightly. Everything else was the same. Easy, Delicious and just a fantastic recipe. I highly recommend making this!
I’m AMAZED!!!! This is the best French toast I’ve had. Both of my teenage boys loved it. I was skeptical about the dipping it in the cinnamon sugar. Very happy to say I was wrong. It is not too sweet, and the glaze is amazing. I did add more cream cheese. It helped balance the cinnamon sugar coating. If you haven’t tried this, it’s a must!!!!! TYSM for the recipe. WE LOVED IT❤️❤️❤️
Are you able to make this the night before?
This is really best when served immediately.
Oh my. My mouth is watering and I’m not even hungry!
I think this site was great. But could they have said how to make the icing? Unless I didn’t see it that’s kindof sad don’t you think. I love it though. My daughter loved it too. If i had to rate it 0 to 5 i would give it 4. Ha Ha Ha i can’t believe I just did that. I am so freaked truthful. Dang i need to shut. My point is 4 is the rating. Bit I love this site.
The instructions for the icing (cream cheese glaze) is listed in the very first step.
1. To make the cream cheese glaze, combine cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth; set aside.
Yes!!! Thank you so much for this recipe!!! I made it for my husband this morning for his birthday breakfast and he loved it and my kids actually ate breakfast!!!
This may seem like a dense question, but do you put two tablespoons of butter in the skillet each time you replace the bread (after the first two slices cook and you put in two more)?
You can add additional butter as you see fit between the batches.
looks delicious, going to try!
This is actually a traditional Spanish dessert called “Torrijas”
This was absolutely delicious!! I didn’t have the haiwaiian bread but regular bread worked well. My husband will be happy to come home to this. Great recipe!!!
Love the idea & recipe!!! Just bought Pepperidge Farm Apple & Caramel Bread, a seasonal bread & will use it to make this breakfast this AM!
Wow – fantastic breakfast classic mash up. Love them both – I’m trying them out tomorrow (maybe Sunday too).
Costco makes a cinnamon streusel bread – It works well with this recipe also!
That sounds amazing – I’ll definitely have to try that next time!
Made it this morning – was a definite keeper! Gave my boys a taste while they were getting out of bed and man did it help motivate them to get up and around.
Oh wow…this looks delicious! I’m always trying to find great breakfast ideas. I will be making this!
This French toast is truly the best we have ever had. Am I suppose to use a mixer to mix the cream cheese? Mine had a few lumps but did not deter anyone from gobbling up every delicious slice. Thanks.
Churro flavors for breakfast, yes please! Looks amazing!
OH YES! Best French Toast EVER-100%!
I can’t find this bread in Canada. Can you suggest a substitution? Perhaps challah?
Yes, challah should work just fine. That’s usually my go-to bread for French toast.
This looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the recipe. 🙂
This is positively LEWD! You should be ashamed of yourself! : )
