Tater Tot Waffles
Yes, you can turn tater tots into the BEST WAFFLES ever using a waffle iron! Seriously. Breakfast doesn’t get any easier, or tastier!!
Tater tots in waffle form? Um, yes, please!
I mean the person who invented this whole waffle-iron-tater-tot situation deserves a gold medal. Or Nobel Prize, really.
It’s just a genius creation – using frozen thawed tots to create a crisp savory waffle in less than 10 minutes.
And you can really have fun with this recipe so if cajun seasoning isn’t really your jam, you can add other seasonings to taste. (Side note: The additions of bacon, sour cream and runny egg never killed anyone. Just saying.)
Also, ketchup and Sriracha (or any other hot sauce) will be your best friend here. TRUST ME.
Tater Tot Waffles
Ingredients
- 1 32-ounce bag frozen tater tots, thawed
- 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions
- Preheat a waffle iron to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the top and bottom of the waffle iron or coat with nonstick spray.
- Working in batches, spread tater tots in an even layer into the waffle iron; season with cajun seasoning, salt and pepper, to taste. Close, pressing down firmly to flatten, and cook until golden brown and crisp, about 5-6 minutes, or until desired crispness is reached. Repeat with remaining tater tots, adding more nonstick spray as needed.
- Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.
