ABOUT CHUNGAH

I am the founder, creator, food photographer and recipe developer of Damn Delicious®, a website established in 2011. What started as a grad school hobby using a simple Tumblr account has transformed into my full-time job and business, connecting with millions of readers all over the world with recipes that are regularly featured in major media such as People, TODAY, and Bon Appetit, among many others.

Moving away from sunny Los Angeles, I now reside in the Midwest with my family and corgi crew, cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers.

  1. In the 1980’s I would travel to Korea (mostly Seoul) on business. Most of the traditional Koreans I interfaced with (female and male) were engineers and damn good engineers too. Anyway, my wife found your site today and showed it to me as in “look at this, I’m going to make some of these recipes”.

“Good”, I said, as many of the recipe pictures look delicious enough to eat by themselves.

  2. First time post, Saw your site two-three months ago and I love it. I’ve made 2 dozen recipes at least so far, pear&apple crisp is in the slow cooker right now. Love your recipes they’re DELICIOUS, quick and you don’t need outlandish ingredients. Can’t wait for the crisp and new recipes.

  3. I love your recipes Ms. Rhee.  Keep us informed, please!

  4. Great stuff here. Love your recipes. You make my family very happy 🙂

  5. Hi Chungah,

I am a first time “Damn Delicious” user having made, just last night, your garlic shrimp for the whole family. We wanted something we had not had before and of course we had fresh shrimp begging to be used. In one word, we “loved” your recipe. The steps were easy to follow, the ingredients were fresh and the final meal was delicious! Thank you for following your passion, we will definitely be back!

  6. Can’t wait to get started.

  7.  Thank you so much for your spam fried rice recipe. It rocks! It’s exactly what I was looking for. You are amazing. I live in Maine! But my son lives in LA and my daughter lives in San Jose, and I have lots of family in San Diego!   My daughter-in-law is Japanese, my niece and nephew and sister-in-law are Korean,  and my son taught in China for eight years! My other sister-in-law is from Thailand.    I have learned over the years a lot about Asian cooking.   So much more to learn.
Happy cooking! I’m learning a lot about Asian cooking, yet  I still can cook a good lobster and fish chowder!

  8. I love it that you are in Los Angeles and that you followed your heart. When I was much younger I followed my heart but unfortunately I did not stay the course. So I would just like to suggest to you that you not allow something else distract you somewhere else. Instead follow your heart and take the course that makes you happiest.
I just retired from my 2nd career and am looking forward to being free and being able to do whatever I choose to do not what I have to do to pay the mortgage or the rent.
    I just love your story.
I feel proud that you had the courage to do this and you are succeeding.
