A copycat recipe that you can easily make right at home in just 20 minutes. And it tastes a million times better too!
I am such a sucker for lettuce wraps. They are so low in carbs so I become a bottomless pit, stuffing my face without any kind of guilt. And when it’s an exact PF Chang’s replica that can be made in 20 minutes or less – well, that just means I’m having this 5 times a week.
I kid you not. This is the easiest, quickest meal you could ever make. And if you’re quick in the kitchen, you could even get this on the dinner table in less than 15 minutes. Plus, it’s budget-friendly and you can easily double or triple the recipe as needed. What more could you ask for?
PF Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha, optional
- 1 (8-ounce) can whole water chestnuts, drained and diced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 head butter lettuce
Equipment
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add ground chicken and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the chicken as it cooks; drain excess fat.
- Stir in garlic, onion, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger and Sriracha until onions have become translucent, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in chestnuts and green onions until tender, about 1-2 minutes; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- To serve, spoon several tablespoons of the chicken mixture into the center of a lettuce leaf, taco-style.

I’m trying to make this for my dad who is on a potassium restricted diet. How can I get the nutrition information for this recipe? Thanks so much!

This is a wonderful recipe. Our little family loved it. We have to double the ingredients!
Thanks for another great recipe! This is my fav dish at PF Changs! Your recipe is a delight!! Easy peasy and yummy!!
This recipe was quick, easy and tasty! My 14 yr. old daughter actually did the cooking tonight and let me have a break! 😉
These were really good! I don’t know how quick it is though. It took me quite a while to grate ginger, mince garlic, chop green onion, chop onion, chop chestnuts, and wash lettuce. I’m not complaining, it was still delicious!
I didn’t read all the comments so I don’t know if someone already mentioned but DO NOT ADD SALT! the soy sauce alone has plenty of it. Thankfully I already know from experience but for someone who isn’t as experienced could possibly ruin the whole meal. other than that, they were delicious!!! thanks for posting!!
Good morning! I am thinking of making your lettuce wraps for dinner since your Pork Potstickers were a hit last week! I just have one question. Do you think that you could substitute sesame oil for the rice wine vinegar?
Samantha
Unfortunately, I just don’t think sesame oil is an appropriate substitute for the rice wine vinegar. It is always best to use the ingredients listed in the recipe to obtain the best results possible.
I love these and make them often, we top ours with a sprinkling of chopped wasabi soy almonds and it adds the perfect finishing touch!
Made these tonight & they were super quick, easy & delicious! My boys are 10 & 14 and they usually don’t eat lettuce. That was not the case tonight! Glad we made a double batch so we can enjoy the left-overs!
Made this the other night and they were DELICIOUS!!! Even my husband said they were great and the recipe is a keeper!!
For the record, hoisin sauce is actually quite high in carbs and sugar. :-/
It’s a good thing that there’s only 1 TBS per serving, even less if you stretch this out to 6 servings!
Made these tonight. Quick, easy and DELICIOUS!!! My hubby lived them too. Next time I will make two batches, one spicy for us and one mild for our toddler. These are definitely going to be in my regular rotation! I am becoming a huge fan of your recipes! Fantastic!
Thank you for posting, I am going to try these tonight!!! I can’t wait!!
My friend shared this recipe link with me and it is so delicious that I just had to post a “thank you”!
You are very welcome!
Do you know how many calories it is per serving? Just made them and they were amaaaazing!

I found your site about a month ago and I’ve made these chicken wraps out times since then. I have a big bowl of it in the fridge and my teenagers devour them after school. I can’t wait to try some of your other recipes.
Is store bought ground chicken dark meat? Could I take a raw chicken breast and process it in my food processor? Would it turn out about the same?
Cindy, it is fine to use a food processor.
I made this for my family last night and even my picky 8 year old gobbled it up and asked for more. Next time I will need to double the recipe and plan not to have leftovers. It was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!
Made this tonight. It was delicious! Will be making this a lot! Thank you for sharing!
I had never had pf Chang’s lettuce wraps before. I had made these because the recipe looked great. I recently had PF Chang’s lettuce wraps and have to say that these are WAYYYYY better. The PF Chang’s were super salty and not nearly as delicious!
