About Damn Delicious®

Damn Delicious® was simply a hobby, but now it’s my full-time job.

Coming from a very traditional Korean household, I was destined to be one of three things: a lawyer, a dentist or a doctor. So as a grad school hobby, I created a Tumblr account in April 2011 to document some of my favorite recipes. I had one reader, making less than $0.30 per month.

But 14 years later, Damn Delicious® has grown into something that I never thought possible. I have connected with readers all over the world, conquered so many culinary feats in my kitchen, and collaborated with brands that I always dreamed to work with.

Damn Delicious has even grown into an amazing team of individuals working together to create the best possible recipes. We create recipes, step-by-step tutorials, and videos that focus on quick and easy meals for the everyday home cook to show you that it really doesn’t take much to make a homemade meal completely from scratch.

Damn Delicious® is a registered trademark of Chungah Rhee.

  1. The Korean Beef Bowl recipe was delicious. I added shredded carrots and snow peas layered on top of the brown rice and then added the beef, scallions, and thinly sliced fresh cayenne pepper.

  2. I love your recipes, website and cookbook. I know it’s super cold in Chicago. However, I am hoping that you could find recommended some awesome cold soups (gazpacho, strawberry, watermelon, cucumber). That also freeze well. I am a flight attendant out of Chicago and I am always looking for meal prep, long lasting and easy heating. Thanks again. Stay warm.

  3. I loved reading your story! I have tried looking at other websites for recipes but I always end up back here, they are just so easy and elegant at the same time! I also LOVE that you don’t write a novel before each recipe, but I still read what you have to say because it is entertaining and I know I will get to the recipe soon! 🙂 I am 1/4 korean and I love that I can make some foods inspired by my Korean heritage in my every day life (we usually just do a big KBBQ dinner on Christmas, but now I make Korean power bowls all the time!).

  4. HAPA family here and my picky kids love your Asian recipes, which are also very approachable for the cook (me). Great simple recipes that don’t compromise flavor and healthy ingredients, plus love your humor and down to earth personality. and randomly btw, I have to say, your glowing skin and silky hair are SO gorgeous – tutorial please?! My Asian hair does not curl or wave whatsoever and blush/eyeshadow is confusing. It’s lovely to see some Asian representation in the food blogosphere – as a millennial ABC, it’s been a struggle to find good Asian recipes, but the food is a heritage that I want to pass on in some way to my kids.

  5. Made your Buttermilk biscuits tonight. They were devine!
    Will be following!

  6. Thank you so much for the recipe for Homemade Dog Food. We have a little Dachshund named Dino. He is 5 years old and like your pups…spoiled rotten. We love him dearly and only want the best for him. We are going to try this recipe on him. He has been having some issues of late with indigestion so hopefully this will help.
Congrats to you and your husband!! We will be celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary and we hope that ya’ll have a long and happy life together.
    Thanks again! Paula Arena

  7. I found you when you first got Cartman! Finally you came up on my feed on IG. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness! Keep on making deliciousness!

  8. Hello Chungah, I’ve been following you on Pinterest for some time now.  I also have one of your cookbooks.  I have enjoyed many of your recipes.  They were “Damn Delicious.” My daughter and son-in-law live in Chicago and they are both “foodies.”  When I told them about you, the first thing they wanted to know is whether you offer cooking classes.  If you decide to do that, please let me know.  I’d like to pay for their classes.  They would love it.

    Kind regards, Beth Powers

PS Butters and Cartman are so cute.  You and your hubby are a lovely couple too.
