Honey Glazed Salmon
The easiest, most flavorful salmon you will ever make. And that browned butter lime sauce is to die for!
I’m always intimidated to cook with salmon. It’s one of those temperamental ingredients that can be completely undercooked or overcooked. But with Wolf’s dual fuel range, you’ll be able to cook the perfect salmon right at home – wonderfully crisp and seared on the outside and completely cooked through to perfection on the inside.
Wolf dual fuel ranges feature the best of two worlds – gas cooking topside and an electric oven with dual convection below, ideal for cooking salmon. Now I’ve tried the pan-fried method on several occasions but the salmon either ends up too overcooked on the outside or completely raw on the inside. So by searing it first, you’ll get that amazingly crisp exterior, crusted with a sweet honey glaze. Once that’s done, you can pop it right in the oven to let it completely cook through.
Wolf dual convection also produces more uniform heating than a single convection fan can deliver. Wolf ovens, including the oven in the dual fuel range, include two convection fans that work to ensure air and heat is circulated evenly throughout the oven cavity – no hot or cold spots – meaning your food turns out completely evenly cooked. So your fish will always be cooked through without overcooking it. Amazing, right?
And once you top it off with the browned butter lime sauce – well, I won’t be the one to judge if you start guzzling down the sauce first. It’s absolutely heavenly, and the perfect complement to the honey crusted salmon. It’s so good, we made this recipe three times already just this week!
Honey Glazed Salmon
Ingredients
- 4 salmon filets
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons lime zest
For the browned butter lime sauce
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- To make the browned butter lime sauce, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, whisking constantly, until the foam subsides and the butter begins to turn a golden brown, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic, honey and lime juice, salt and pepper, to taste; set aside.
- Season salmon with salt and pepper, to taste. Dredge each salmon filet with 1 tablespoon flour and drizzle with 1 tablespoon honey.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium high heat. Working in batches, add salmon to the skillet and sear both sides until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Place into oven and bake until completely cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- Serve immediately with browned butter lime sauce and lime zest, if desired.

This was a wonderful and easy to make recipe. It was the only honey glaze salmon recipe I could find without soy sauce which was key since I was making it for my mom who can’t have all that salt that soy sauce has. So thank you for a delicious alternative! Also, didn’t have a lime, but used a lemon and it was delish!
Did you mean to have honey added in, both, steps two and three? I feel like it was supposed to added be only in step three. ??
Incredible! Thank you for an amazing recipe- especially for the winter months when we have to settle for previously frozen wild salmon. The sauce is perfection and complements the salmon exactly as described! We served with plain rice and salad because the salmon was the star and it was one of our best special meals with minimal effort. So appreciative of you and your recipes! You do not exaggerate- truly damn delicious!
Oh my goodness this was absolutely delicious, no it was damn delicious lol. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I just love salmon. I love how healthy it is and how you can throw together a quick meal with it every time. I will top this on a salad tomorrow but tonight I paired it with some jasmine rice, cucumbers and avocado. This will be a family favorite for sure! Thanks 🙂
Best salmon I’ve ever made!!
AmaZING! You knocked it out of the park once again.
This is going to be prepared in my house often. 🙂
This was delicious! Made it for 7 people tonight and everyone raved about it.
Does the zest of lime go with the flour?
Made this for dinner tonight and loved it. My husband had bought salmon for us for dinner and I wanted to try something new. We both loved how it came out. This is a keeper and I will make it again. Thank you for sharing this recipe. It was not hard to make would be a great main course when we have guests.
Loved this so much. This is gonna be my go to salmon recipe especially for Sunday dinners. Made it last week and making it again today. So quick, yummy and easy.
The recipe for Honey Glazed Salmon was amazing and very simple to follow. The lime honey glaze was the icing on the top of the cake. One thing I added was putting brown sugar on the salmon after the flower and honey drizzle. I also added some of the glaze to the salmon before putting it in the over. I normally do not care for salmon, but I loved it prepared this way. The rest of my family said this tasted like it was made in a restaurant. Thank you for sharing your recipe with all of us.
Lived up to the sites name; damn delicious! I used a local raspberry honey too that made it that much better! Thanks for the recipe!
Great recipe. Much easier than I thought it would be to prepare. Thank you!
Do you put the flour and honey on both sides before cooking?
I don’t have lime.. but I do have lemon.. Will it work out?
Sure!
I have been trying to make the perfect salmon for the past two years, and although it always comes out good it’s never perfect. With this recipe I’m finally able to make it! My kids devoured this and they normally skip the salmon altogether when I make it. Now I know to make a lot more when I use this recipe. Thanks for posting!
This recipe is definitely damn delicious thank you much for sharing.
That’s what we love to hear!
I have made with salmon and loved. This time Made with steelhead trout and was again delicious, decreased the cooking time a little because the trout was thinner.
Amazing!! I have made this over and over, and every time it is raved about- easy for beginner cooks, but my husband says that its better than any restaurant salmon he has eaten . Love it!
We love this recipe!! The only way my husband will eat it.
This is about the 10th time I made this since finding this recipe. My kids love it my husband does and so do I! It’s simple and healthy so I’m happy with it.
I just made this tonight… it was amaaaazing! SO easy! Paired it with a dijon mustard spring mix salad and now this will be a weekly dish for us! YUM.
Salmon was perfect! Will definitely make again!
It looks delicious. I hope it is I will be making it for my anniversary dinner.
The butter sauce was very good. But instead of using lime, I used lemon and added a dash of Paul Masson brandy. It was really delicious.
Sounds amazing!
What do you pair with this dish? I love the salmon but want to know what to make for a side?
Hi Sammie! My absolute favorite side dish is the garlic parmesan roasted potatoes. But please feel free to check out all of my side dish recipes here.
I love salmon. so, I like your recipe. I will try to make it. Thanks for sharing.
I made this recipe tonight. The directions say to add salt and pepper to the salmon to taste and then add 1 tbsp of flour and add honey and then fry in the pan. This burnt easily on medium heat as indicated in the recipe. I omitted the honey at this step (after I lightly burned a few pieces with only 1 minute of cooking time). AFTER, I pan seared the fish, I drizzled the honey on the salmon for baking, which allowed it to carmelize perfectly. The rest of the recipe was spot on! Thank you for sharing. I will make this again.
JUST MADE THIS AND……WOW!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! 🙂
You are so welcome! We are so happy you enjoyed it so much 🙂 🙂
Not sure if it is just me, but I am a little confused between the video and the printed recipe. Looking at video it doesn’t show steps 3 and 4 you have in the recipe and it shows putting the butter sauce on before cooking in oven rather than after like the recipe. Can you please tell me which one is the correct one to follow?
Thanks,
Kate
Hi Kate – so sorry abut the confusion! But the video recipe is not for this particular recipe.
This was good! It was easy to prep (I even prepped the marinade the day before so I could just douse the salmon when I got home to let it marinate while I worked out) and the 2-3 minutes per side cook time was spot on for me. I found myself preferring the heavily glazed bites, so I think I’d marinate longer and use even more whole cooking next time. THANKS for the recipe!
What happens to the honey when you sear the salmon? Does it mix with the oil or cook into the salmon? Sorry this step confused me a bit. Can I add the honey before I put the salmon in the oven or is it crucial to add for the pan sear? Love all of your recipes, thank you!!!
I recommend searing. It really helps to caramelize all the flavors together with that perfect crusty exterior!
Thank you!
My wife was amazed how good the salmon was. This made her day, this is our new favourite meal.
This marinade is so delicious, I love it! Next week I will serve this to my whole family.
I’m eating the salmon with roasted Brussels sprouts and asparagus and brown rice and it is so good! I put the brown butter sauce on everything and this will be in my weekly routine. Love it!!
Can I use frozen salmon?
I recommend defrosting prior to using.
I made this tonight and my husband thought it was the best salmon he ever had! The flavor is amazing!
I have never left a reply about a recipe that I’ve used but felt compelled to here. This is by far the best Salmon recipe I’ve encountered. I have been using it for a few years and ALWAYS get rave reviews, even from even the pickiest eaters. Other recipes just pale in comparison. When I first made it my husband kept inviting people over for dinner, insisting that I make this Salmon! Anyone that is timid to cook or try a salmon recipe, I highly recommended this one.
Thanks so much for sharing!
I just made this for myself for dinner because my husband “hates salmon”. I only got a few bites because he kept stealing it off my plate! I paired it with the cilantro lime rice from your shrimp and rice recipe and it was AMAZING! My husband even asked for it for dinner tomorrow. THANK YOU!! 🙂
We just finished our dinner. Your recipe was fantastic, totally different from what we’re used to cook here in Greece. The sweetness of the honey, which was caramelized on the salmon made made a great combo with the butter-garlic sauce which was added on top. We served it with a classic maroulosalata (Greek lettuce salad) and we really enjoyed it.
Excellent recipe. Congrats!
Panos and Mirella
We are hosting a dinner for the break fast (Yom Kippur). Was looking for another great way to make salmon and this looks fantastic.mwill be trying it Wednesday for a BIG crowd. Thank you and will look forward to following you and your delish recipes. #winningmoneyalwayshelps
Wish I had a wulf oven, I have a Thermador convection which I will be using.
This looks amazing! Tonight my family will have an interesting with your dish, CHUNGAH! Thank you!
Yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to try it
You make me so hungry ! perfect recipe and perfect pictures too. I’m gonna try it tomorrow! Thank you for sharing!
Made this for my family and the are still asking when I’m going to make it again. Tonight’s the night!
I love this recipe. Thanks
I added a little more honey since I prefer the sweeter flavor. I would also not add the 3 Tbsp. of marinade until the salmon is almost done because my liquid burned. Otherwise it was delicious and I’m happy to have a go to recipe for salmon glaze.
Thanks for sharing. Great recipe
Made this today. Everyone loved it. Next time on the grill.
Made this for dinner tonight. Really enjoyed it. The buttery sauce smelled and tasted wonderful. Thanks a lot for this recipe!
The perfect weeknight meal…made in a matter of minutes and packed a wonderful assortment of flavor! Highly recommended!
When you placed it in the oven, what did you use? Baking dish or sheet?
I used an oven-proof skillet, but a baking dish or baking sheet will work just fine.
What type of flour would you recommend for gluten free? Looks delicious!
You can use gluten-free flour.
Where has this glaze, or sauce been all my life? My 4 favorite loves…salmon, butter, garlic and lime. So delicious! Thanks for sharing. I’ll be making this often.
THIS IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE BEST SALMON EVER!!!!! DAMN DELICIOUS!!!!
Is it just me or did anyone else’s while house full with smoke???? Why add the honey before you sear both sides??? What a disaster.
It may just be you – I didn’t have any issues with smoking and I have made this at least a dozen times now. Perhaps your heat source is set too high?
I never comment on anything ever, but love your recipes they are always so easy. I also love how you never use ridiculous ingredients that no one has ever heard of. I don’t cook often but when I do it always seems to be one of you recipes. This one was amazing. My husband thanks you!
Has anyone ever tried this with lemon instead of lime? I’m in a time crunch and can’t get my hands on limes but would love to make this!
Divine! My kind of recipe. Easy to prepare & beautiful to present. My tastebuds sang a delicious symphony & my husband was utterly impressed with the flavours. Thank you!
Making this tonight!
Hi! I am making one of your salmon recipes this Monday night for Rosh Hashanah for some people, and I was wondering if there’s a way to combine the Honey Glazed Salon and the Honey Salmon in foil? I need to cook in foil because I’m worried making salmon will stink up my apartment. Which sauce would you suggest, the lime or the brown butter?
You can’t go wrong with either! 🙂
I just made this for dinner–it’s fantastic! Thanks so much!
looks so good! i love salmon but i’ve never tried cooking it with honey. ill have to give it a go soon
This is so freakin’ delicious. I don’t even like salmon but I had some in the freezer so I tried this recipe and WOW. Its great. I’m about to go in for my third piece… in one sitting… Don’t judge me. It is amazing as is but I added some Sriracha to the butter sauce for the second one which I highly recommend if you like a little heat. THANKS!
Made this last night-so good!! Perfect pairing of flavors. Cooking time was just right too. Thanks! 🙂
I’ve made this twice (in less than two weeks, because it’s so damn delicious) and both times I took the skin off the salmon. Do you leave it on?
You can leave it on or off – it’s really based on personal preference.
Made this for dinner tonight and it was incredible! I will definitely be making it again! Thanks for such a great and simple recipe!
I made this yesterday and you were NOT KIDDING about that browned butter sauce! I wanted to drink it! Absolutely delicious recipe, and the pan-searing worked perfectly.
Fellow readers: don’t skip salt in the sauce, it really makes the lime pop.
Thank you so much for this recipe and blog!
Ooooooo… this looks so good Im making it tonight!
Just when I thought your salmon recipes couldn’t get any better (I’ve tried 4 of them so far) I tasted this! I don’t know if it’s my new favorite because of the delicious, crunchy honey bottom, or the lime garlic sauce. (or the fact my husband made it before I got home!) Thank you for all your delicious, easy recipes. You are my favorite chef!
This looks awesome gonna try toDay. Thinking of using this for a catering job. Will this salmon hold well?
It should be fine but this is really best when served immediately.
So amazing! I made this a month or so ago and my husband and I absolutely loved it! Last week my husband and I were talking about eating out and what sounded good and my husband said he had some really really good salmon and he couldn’t remember where and then he realized it was at home…. with your receipe! 🙂 thanks for helping me look like a chef.
This is amazing! Thank you for the recipe
Oh my god this is amazing! I’ve eaten it two days in a row and I’m pretty sure I’m eating it for dinner tomorrow too!
Did you forget about the garlic in the recipe?????? Where does that come in????
The garlic comes in the second step:
To make the browned butter lime sauce, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, whisking constantly, until the foam subsides and the butter begins to turn a golden brown, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic, honey and lime juice, salt and pepper, to taste; set aside.
what did I do wrong?! When making the brown butter sauce, I had it perfectly brown foam subsided, I added the lime juice and it exploded! And burned resulting in a black butter mess all over… 🙁
Unfortunately I cannot answer what went wrong as I was not in the kitchen with you. And the addition of lemon juice should certainly not create an “explosion” – perhaps your heat source was set too high?
I made this tonight and it was do delicious. Thank you for the recipe.
I love your site and have tried many many things and all of them I love. Did this one tonight and it did not disappoint, I loved the sweetness to this the butter sauce is what made it super tasty and sweet
Sounds fantastic… always looking for a way to make Salmon!
Tried it and it was delicious!
Turned out great, thanks for the recipe!!
this was delicious!!! The butter was amazing! I will put it on everything from now on!
So what if there is still skin on my fillet? Do I just leave it on and cook both sides like you say or do you take it off? Thanks!
That’s really up to you – some people love the skin and some people prefer to take it off. It just really depends on your taste preferences.
I took the skin off because I was afraid it would stick to the pan, but then I cut it into slices about 1/2″ wide, tossed them lightly in flour, drizzled w/ honey and fried them in the pan when the salmon was done.
OMG
So its recommended to put thw sauce on after cooking or could you bake it with the sauce already on?
I haven’t tried it myself but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work!
Last night I made a version of this. I only had 15 minutes to make dinner so I made the sauce and spooned it over the salmon (I did not flour it or sear it, I simply drizzled a little honey over it prior to saucing) and baked it on a foil lined sheet pan at 400ºF with the convection turned on. Start to finish it was ready in less than 15 minutes and it was perfect. I served it with rice, salad, and the extra browned butter sauce at the table. It was delicious and super quick and easy. Thanks!
This looks really good. Do you think this receipe would work with basa fillets?
Yes, of course – but you may have to adjust cooking time as needed.
Is that 400 F CONVECTION or 375 convection and 400 regular oven?
This recipe calls for 400 degrees F using a standard oven.
Absolutely amazing! My husband and children loved it! It will be a staple in my future menu planning!
Made this last night for dinner! So yummy. Adding it to the regular menu.
Would the brown butter lime sauce pair well with chicken or pork? What about white fish?
Jessica, they all sound really great but without further recipe testing, I cannot advise on how each of these would turn out with the brown butter lime sauce.
Making this the next time we have salmon.
I made this tonight.. it was so delicious! I am so glad that I did! I Think next time I may even add a little chili powder to the sauce for a little kick!
Great Recipe, Thanks!!!
Posting in response to sweepstakes: I came home after a stressful day at work and needed a quick and easy recipe for salmon. Didn’t have it in me for long meal prep and almost caved to pizza delivery but luckilly, came across this recipe on Pinterest and it is a true winner! I already had the ingredients in my pantry and was amazed at how quickly the dish came together. I served it with brussel sprouts too. It was absolutely delicious and I have plenty of leftovers to enjoy!
This looks so delicious!
Perfect post run meal!
Just made this last night for dinner, served with rice and asparagus and it was amazing! The sauce was perfection! 🙂 This salmon is definitely part of our dinner rotation now. Thanks for sharing your recipe! 🙂

Always happy to find a good salmon recipe! Can’t wait to try it.
I love salmon but I too have a hard time getting that perfect balance of crisp outside and cooked inside. I’m sure the Wolf dual fuel range would make this recipe a snap. My old electric oven just burns everything. I try convincing the children that is just seared but I think they are catching on….
I can’t wait to try this, I bought some fillets and wasn’t sure what to do…..now I know!

https://twitter.com/benz1171/status/503093328804847616
We usually just pan fry the salmon.
I have used that method before but placing it in the oven after the initial sear ensures that the salmon is fully cooked through.
Do you have to have a wolf range oven or does it matter if it’s just a regular oven? I don’t want to try it if it won’t come out well!!
A standard oven will work just fine.

Yum! Salmon is one of my favorite meals.
Oh that looks amazing! I never thought to finish the salmon in the oven like that. We usually grill ours.
Definitely going to try this recipe. Not only does it look healthy, I like that it calls for ingredients I already have on hand most times. Mahalo for sharing.

This honey glazed salmon looks incredible! I bet it was so good. I love that the Wolf dual fuel ranges feature gas cooking topside & an electric oven with dual convection. Very nice!
This salmon sounds completely yummy! The idea of the honey lime sauce just does it for me.: )
My daughter just introduced me to your blog. Our entire family loves salmon, and I can’t wait to try this! Thank you for blogging and sharing.

The only way I’ve ever made salmon is on the grill. This looks delicious and simple! I will be giving it a try soon!
LOOK AT THAT CRISPY SALMON. Sorry, a little excited. I can never get my darn salmon crispy without it overcooking too. And that honey putting that little caramelization on it, plus brown butter?? Shouldn’t be legal…
Can’t wait to make this – looks so delicious!
I’m going to have to put this on my menu plan for next week.

We usually cook ours on a cedar plank on the grill. I sprinkle it with Greek seasoning and baste it with butter every 15 minutes for an hour. Kinda looking forward to trying this recipe
